  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

So 1-1 at the break. A half of two halves. Germany were on top in the opening few moments and took the lead through Philipp Hofmann, but England kept their composure and hit back through Jesse Lingard. In fact, the home side have created more clear-cut chances.

    More of the same please.

  2. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

    Ex-England defender Jonathan Woodgate

"England are starting to play better and starting to come in to the game more, they're playing with more intensity and if they can cut out the loose passes they'll be on their way."

  3. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

The corner comes to nothing, but it is England finishing the half on the front foot.

  4. Postpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

England win a corner, as Carl Jenkinson's delivery is blocked.

  5. Postpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

There are five minutes until half-time. England have impressed so far against a very good young Germany side.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:24 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

Cripes! It's picked up a bit at the Riverside Stadium.

Germany win a free-kick and Liverpool's Emre Can fires in a peach of a strike that is pushed away by Jonathan Bond. Amin Younes fires wide with his angled "I'm going to take everybody out" follow-up.

  7. GOALpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

It was coming. Jesse Lingard, who went close moments earlier, slots into the Germany keeper's right-hand corner from Carl Jenkinson's low delivery.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:19 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

    Two great chances for England.

Nathan Redmond picks up the ball in midfield and finds Danny Ings. The Burnley man performs a couple of stepovers but his brilliant low shot is well saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The Barcelona keeper is then called in to action again to keep out Ben Gibson's stooping header and Jesse Lingard's follow-up.

    Pressure building.

  9. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 30 March 2015

Germany are doing a great job at closing down England's midfield. Everton full-back Luke Garbutt finds a bit of space down the left but he is put under pressure and his cross drifts out of play.

Not many of you think that Jack Wilshire will make it to Euro 2020...

Christopher Bell: No Wilshere for me. A) not good enough B) more injury prone than Jamie Redknapp and Darren Anderton combined.

Garath Thorn: Luke Shaw? Don't be silly... Luke Garbutt the next left back after Baines.

Macauley Mills: What about Jon Flanagan and James Ward-Prowse, plus if Jordon Ibe carries on playing how he has he'll be in there, I prefer him over Sterling now.

Germany are lively in attack - 5ft 6in Amin Younes of Borussia Monchengladbach turns James Ward-Prowse inside out on the left-hand side of the England area. He reminded me of Lione...

Almost an equaliser for England. Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has to be alert to block Jesse Lingard's sidefoot effort at the far post from Nathan Redmond's cross.

"That was clinical, England haven't got near them or laid a finger on them. We've just been passing it around without any real direction. That was a great finish from the Germans."

    Lovely, lovely strike.

That came out of the blue. Philipp Hofmann collects Christian Gunter's ball from the left, turns in the area then fires a low drive past Jonathan Bond.

That's his eighth goal for the U21s in his 15th appearance. He plays for German second division side Kaiserslautern.

More of your selections for England's Euro 2020 squad, could Andy Carroll feature eight years after his European Championship debut?

James Hyde: Even as a Norwich fan, I would be shocked to see Redmond become an England regular. Not so much hit and miss as hit and misses.

Mike Clark: What about Andy Carroll???

Nye Crozier: No room for Berahino or Ings? I personally would be intrigued to see Kane have a good strike partner.

Schalke's Max Meyer takes it but his delivery is easily collected by Watford keeper Jonathan Bond. You can do better than that Max.

Hang on! Free-kick to Germany from 40 yards out.....

It has been a steady start to the match by both sides (euphemism for 'not a lot has happened') in what appears to be a drizzly night at the Riverside Stadium - any fans watching the match give me a weather forecast.
