Easter Road is basked in early Spring sunshine ahead of this afternoon's cracker.
Hibs have accounted for Rangers in each of their previous three league games this season: scoring nine goals and conceding one in the process.
As we previously mentioned, Hearts could secure the Championship title today without kicking a ball in anger.
Robbie Neilson wants to win it at Tynecastle and Hibs boss Alan Stubbs insists he would feel the same.
"You want to win it in front of your home fans," Stubbs tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.
"We obviously don't want to do Robbie any favours; we'll concern ourselves with what we do today.
"We want to get three points: if we do, fantastic, if we don't, I'll be on the phone to Robbie to congratulate him."
"You can call it what you want," Rangers boss Stuart McCall says of his likely 3-5-2 formation.
"I'm sure after five minutes of the game you'll find out what it is. There are certain areas we need to impress ourselves on.
"We know what Hibs are about, they like to get a bit of midfield control and get the ball in wide areas, they've got two very good attacking full-backs, but as much as we're aware of what they're about, we've then got to come and start making impressions on games.
"At this moment in time, there are no thoughts of defeat for us."
"We feel we've got the tools to get a result," Hibs boss Alan Stubbs tells our intrepid reporter Chick "Chico" Young.
"We've gone into every game wanting to win and, luckily enough recently, we've had success doing that.
"Today's no different and it's going to be a tough game. Stuart McCall has paid us a real compliment by playing three at the back and five across midfield to combat us.
"But we're confident at this moment in time and we believe in what we're doing..."
Rangers boss Stuart McCall opts to go with three at the back this afternoon in a 3-5-2 formation.
Two changes for the visitors as replace Bilel Mohsni and Kenny Miller come in for the the injured Tom Walsh and Kris Boyd.
Jason Cummings failed a late fitness test for Hibs and doesn't make the squad for today's game.
Second-placed Hibs, who have beaten Rangers three times in the division so far this term, trail the league leaders by 23 points. Stuart McCall's men have a game in hand over Hibs and are six points behind.
Robbie Neilson is on record as saying he'd prefer to secure the title at Tynecastle, with the Edinburgh side's next home match is against Queen of the South on 28 March.
We'll have to wait and see...
We can picture celebrity Hearts fan Ronnie Corbett out walking the dog - arms and legs pumping like pistons - and throwing the stick high and far as he awaits to hear of events at Easter Road; wondering if he'll be heading home to tuck into some league title-winning steak pie.
Hibernian: Oxley, Gray, Hanlon, Fontaine, Stevenson, Robertson, Fyvie, Allan, McGeouch, Malonga, Djedje. Subs: Perntreou, Forster, Craig, Stanton, Boyle, Watson, Handling.
Rangers: Bell, McGregor, McCulloch, Mohsni, Zaliukas, Wallace; Murdoch, Law, Shiels; Clark, Miller. Subs: Robinson, Hutton, Black, Daly, Vuckic, Templeton, Sinnamon.
What a game we have in prospect at Easter Road.
Hibs entertain Rangers in the capital in what promises to be a Sunday lunch Championship cracker.
However, Hearts will also have interest in what's on the menu. Should Hibs fail to beat Rangers, then Hearts will be crowned champions.
