Let's start with Raheem Sterling. Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling has been taking up plenty of column inches after being photographed using a shisha pipe and appearing to inhale nitrous oxide.

His manager Brendan Rodgers has had a word in his shell like and ex-Reds defender Jamie Carragher says the 20-year-old's off-the-field behaviour has become a "distraction".

"Even if you don't talk about it, it is in the background," said Carragher, 37.

"Rodgers is asked the day before a game, when he should be talking football he's thinking about Sterling."

Alan Pardew might have the visit of West Brom on his mind today but, with it being FA Cup semi-final weekend, he might want to take a moment to reflect to one of his most memorable days as a player at the same stage of the competition in 1990.

The scene is Crystal Palace against Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park and none other than Pards got the winner in a 4-3 thriller.

You can see how it unfolded on BBC Two's FA Cup rewind show right now or watch it right here on the iPlayer. Believe me, it's worth a watch.

  3. What's the scenario?published at 09:15 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

Just like doing your stretches before a workout at the gym, you need to limber up for a day of football with some proper build up and we are here to help on that front.

It's not quite E=mc2 but it not a bad formula for some Saturday morning footie chat. We'll have a look at the back pages of the national press, go through some of the big stories making the news, analyse today's games in more detail and relive some FA Cup memories.

  5. Saturday's gamespublished at 09:06 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

So, let's go through today's schedule. We have four top-flight 15:00 BST kick-offs in the form of Crystal Palace v West Brom, Everton v Burnley, Leicester v Swansea and Stoke v Southampton.

Then the FA Cup semi-final between Reading and Arsenal kicks off at 17:20 BST before in-form Manchester United will be aiming to upset the title charge of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Plenty of games for players to write their names into folklore for clubs playing at Wembley, fighting for the title or to avoid the drop.

  6. Welcome and good morningpublished at 09:02 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

When Bonnie Tyler belted out her tune 'holding out for a hero' I'm not sure she had a weekend of FA Cup semi-final and Premier League action in mind.

The lyrics below obviously aren't exact either but, on a massive weekend of footie action and heading into the final straight of the season, what better words eh?

  7. 'Holding out for a hero'published at 08:09 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

    I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero who will win me an FA Cup semi-final

    He's gotta be strong

    And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

    I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero who will get me three Premier League points

    He's gotta be sure

    And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life
