    Bayern 6-1 Porto (Agg: 7-4)

What a night, what a team. Bayern are going through the gears at exactly the right time. Let's see which of the Madrid clubs will be joining them in the semi-finals tomorrow. And will it be Monaco or Juventus? We'll know in 24 hours' time.

Until then, it's goodnight from me. Thanks for your company.

    Bundesliga live text

The Bundesliga's website ran a live text of the build-up to tonight's game, and they weren't pulling any punches with how important this match was for Pep Guardiola.

"Regarded as one of world football's most talented tactical minds, Pep Guardiola is gearing up for an encounter which could define his legacy as head coach of FC Bayern München," they said.

He's come through this test with some style, I'm sure we can agree.

  6. How's stat?!

    Bayern 6-1 Porto (Agg: 7-4)

    • Bayern have netted six headed goals in the Champions League this season, more than any other side.
    • Bayern are the first team to score three headed goals in one Champions League match since September 2013 (PSG v Olympiakos).
  7. Player reaction

    Bayern 6-1 Porto (Agg: 7-4)

And here's some reaction from Bayern striker Thomas Muller: "It's hard to find any words. I'm quite exhausted., but it couldn't have gone any better. We never imagined to play like we played in the first half, it was really hard work. Great compliments to my team."

  8. Player reaction

    Bayern 6-1 Porto (Agg: 7-4)

Bayern's two-goal striker Robert Lewandowski has been speaking to the media, here's what he said to Uefa.com: "The first half was simply awesome, it was totally great. We are Bayern and we can turn a 3-1 defeat around. We knew we had to push really hard. Five goals in the first half are absolutely crazy, of course."

The draw for the semi-finals of the Champions League takes place on Friday. It'll be mouth-watering whichever combination comes out.

  14. Has the Champions League become predictable?

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Nevin at Allianz Arena

"It got predictable a long time ago. It's a little bit of a shame. We try not to be biased during commentary but Porto were the last of the little teams and they've been absolutely whacked, swatted like flies out of the way.

"There's always Spanish and German teams in the semi-finals, the odd time an Italian or English team but that's it. And even then it's the same teams. But it doesn't mean it's not exciting."

  17. Football League

It's been a significant night in all three divisions of the Football League with joy and heartache in equal measure.

Millwall's hopes of escaping the Championship's relegation zone suffered a big blow as they let in two late goals to the prolific Rudi Gestede and Jordan Rhodes at Blackburn. The Lions are four points adrift of safety with two games left to play.

It's as you were at the top of League One with second-placed Preston and third-placed MK Dons both winning - leaving North End a point ahead going into the final two weekends of the season. Rochdale kept their slim play-off hopes alive by beating Leyton Orient while there were draws between Swindon and Walsall (3-3) and Scunthorpe and Bradford (1-1).

The defeats for Orient and Notts County leave both clubs in desperate trouble.

Southend edged the League Two promotion clash at Bury with former Shaker David Worrall scoring the only goal to take United level on points with third-placed Wycombe.

Want a good stat? On your head, then...

Tonight's game saw the most headed goals in a CL match this season - four.

  19. Post update

The dominance shown by Bayern and Barcelona tonight shows just how far behind the Premier League clubs are. Even Chelsea would have struggled to contain these two tonight.

  20. Who would win if Bayern drew Barca?

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Nevin at Allianz Arena

"If everyone is fit, I would probably say Barcelona. Franck Ribery is key, if he was playing at his best I'd say it would be closer but he hasn't been at his best. Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar have scored more than 90 goals between them this season and I'd back them to score against the defence we've seen here tonight."

  23. FC United on the up

BBC Sport's Simon Stone: "FC United's biggest crowd of the season were able to celebrate promotion to Conference North thanks to Greg Daniels' second-half header.

"Daniels met Craig Lindfield's 69th-minute cross with enough power to get it through a crowded six-yard box and to earn Karl Marginson's men a 1-0 win over Stourbridge.

"The result takes FC United five points clear of second-placed Workington in the Evo-Stik Premier League with just one game to go.

"A crowd of 3,588 were at the Tameside Stadium to witness the club who were only formed 10 years ago as a direct result of the Glazer family's takeover of Manchester United gain their fourth promotion.

"They are now just two leagues away from the Football League. And taking their place in the Evo-Stik Premier League next season will be Salford City.

"The team part-owned by the 'Class of 92' - Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt - cannot be caught at the top of the First Division North following Darlington's failure to win at Warrington."

  40. Big night for FC United

BBC Sport's Simon Stone: "Finally the breakthrough for FC United.

"Craig Lindfield and substitute Shelton Payne had a header and shot cleared off the line respectively. The hosts maintained the pressure and when the ball was lofted into a packed penalty area, Greg Daniels got enough power into his header to get it through the crowd of bodies.

A couple of big goals have just gone in in League One which affect both ends of the table.

MK Dons have taken the led against Doncaster to once again close the gap on second-placed Preston, still 2-0 up at Notts County, to a point.

And Rochdale have kept their play-off hopes alive and hit Leyton Orient's survival hopes by going ahead at Spotland.

Millwall's Nicky Bailey (right) and Blackburn Rovers Paul Taylor

Millwall's hopes of survival in the Championship would receive a massive boost if they could score in the second half of their game at Blackburn. It's currently goalless at Ewood Park - and if it stays like that, the Lions would be three points adrift of safety with two matches remaining.

Promotion from League One is still in Preston's hands after they took a 2-0 half-time at relegation-threatened Notts County. They started the night in second place and a point ahead of MK Dons, who are only drawing 0-0 with Doncaster at the break.

Fourth-placed Bury and fifth-placed Southend have not been able to find a goal in the first half of their League Two clash at a packed JD Stadium - where all the fans have been allowed in for free.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone: "Goalless first-half at the Tameside Stadium - FC United v Stourbridge.

"A draw would almost certainly promote FC United as they would have to lose by 10 goals at Workington on Saturday to end up in the play-offs.

"But with a pretty loud and vocal crowd in attendance, they would prefer to get the job done tonight.

All the Football League goals so far have come in League One with second-placed Preston taking a step nearer to automatic promotion after taking a 2-0 lead at relegation-threatened Notts County - their second coming from the division's player of the year Joe Garner.

Bayern 4-0 Porto (Agg: 5-3) - Thomas Muller

    Mueller

This is the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the best club competition in the world... and it's all too easy for Bayern. They are pulling apart Porto like a ravenous pack of wolves - Thomas Muller's shot from the edge of the area taking a deflection off Bruno Indi and wrong-footing the keeper to nestle in the back of the net. Shall we run a sweep? I'm going for seven.

  120. Pass masters

    Bayern v Porto (19:45 BST) (Agg: 1-3)

Sticking with the recent stats theme, it's perhaps no surprise that Bayern have made the most passes in this season's competition, share the top pass completion award so far (91%) and they also rank highest for possession, 63% - the same as Barcelona, their manager's old club.

  121. Pep a failure? No

    Bayern v Porto (19:45 BST) (Agg: 1-3)

    Franz Beckenbauer

Considering the trophies Pep Guardiola has won at Bayern and the style of play he has developed, it's crazy to think the German giants are even fielding questions about their manager's future. But they are.

Honorary president and all-round footballing legend Franz Beckenbauer is reported to have told German newspaper Bild: "Has Guardiola failed? No. I think it would be too drastic to make such a claim.

"Of course, you have to be on top of your game in the knockout stages of the Champions League. We have failed to do just that in three out of four games.

"Bayern were beaten twice by Real Madrid last year. We have not forgotten about the 4-0 loss yet. Not a single Bayern player reached his usual level against Porto. But I can say one thing and that is that I still have complete faith in Guardiola, even if the situation is quite tricky."

  123. Blockbusting Porto

    Bayern v Porto (19:45 BST) (Agg: 1-3)

Perhaps my favourite Porto stat of the lot is that nobody else has scored more Champions League goals from outside the area this season. They've smashed in eight raspers in total. You have been warned, Manuel Neuer.

Twice winners Porto have not reached the last four since winning the trophy in 2004, but they are unbeaten in this season's competition. Bayern v Porto (19:45 BST) (Agg: 1-3)

How are both sides doing domestically this season? Very well, in case you didn't know.

Bayern won again at the weekend to go within two wins of another Bundesliga title, while Porto are second in their respective league, three points behind Benfica. That title race looks to be going down to the wire.

  128. Football League latest

It's a big night in the Football League with one match in the Championship, five in League One and one in League Two - with something at stake in almost every fixture.

Millwall, in the Championship relegation zone, visit Blackburn knowing that a victory will take them to within a point of Rotherham, who still face a possible three-point deduction.

Promotion rivals Preston and MK Dons are both in action in League One. Preston, one point ahead of the Buckinghamshire side, travel to Notts County, who are two points adrift of safety, while the free-scoring Dons host mid-table Doncaster. Meanwhile Leyton Orient can climb out of the relegation zone with a win at Rochdale - a result which would end the hosts' slim play-off hopes.

It's free entry for the only game of the night in League Two - and the fans are in for a thriller as fourth-placed Bury entertain fifth-placed Southend. A win will put automatic promotion into Bury's hands, as they will move a point ahead of Wycombe in third place with two games remaining.

  129. Post update

    Bayern v Porto (19:45 BST) (Agg: 1-3)

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Nevin at Allianz Arena

"Bayern have goals in their team but do they have enough pace without the injured Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben? This was a night made for those two as Porto have had to change their two full-backs.

"I'm sure Pep Guardiola will have a really good plan in his head. It will involve a lot of Mario Gotze - he's a great creative influence. If they can take a chance early, they become the big favourites. But it's still in the balance as it stands."

  131. Big night for FC United?

BBC Sport's Simon Stone: "It could be a significant evening for FC United of Manchester.

"Ten years after the club was formed by fans disillusioned after the Glazer family's takeover of Manchester United, FC United only need to beat Stourbridge in their Evo-Stik Premier League game to confirm promotion to Conference North, tier six of the football pyramid.

"It would be the fourth promotion in the club's history in a game that will be their last 'on the road'.

"Since their formation, FC United have played at a variety of grounds but the supporter-owned club are due to open their purpose-built stadium, which fans have raised a significant proportion of the £6.5m for, at Broadhurst Park next month when they will play Benfica in a friendly."

When asked about his future plans before this game, Guardiola said: "My future is: Wednesday free, Thursday training, and, of course, next year to be here. That's my future."

City fans... would you be happy with Pep? I imagine I know the answer to that.

Thiago Alcantara pulled one back in the 28th minute but Jackson Martinez's second-half strike ensured the boys from Portugal head into tonight with a healthy advantage.

It's not just the fact Julen Lopetegui can balance a football on two fingers... it's the fact he's steered Porto to a 3-1 first-leg lead against the mighty Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They can't, can they? They won't, will they?

  147. The next Jose?

26 May 2004... football has never been the same since.

Why? Well, that was the day Jose Mourinho shocked Europe by taking unfancied Porto all the way to the Champions League final. And winning it.

Eleven years on, we're still being entertained off the pitch by The Special One, and continue to marvel at his achievements on the pitch.

But is there a new sheriff in town? Ladies and gentleman, I give you Julen Lopetegui.
