All over. Far too easy for Stoke, who are up to ninth in the Premier League table, three points behind eighth-placed Swansea. Tottenham remain sixth but their hopes of another top-five finish have been damaged. Reaction to the game is on the BBC Sport website.

Into added time. The full time whistle cannot come soon enough for Spurs. This has been a dreadful day for them.

Gordon: Undoubtedly better as a team under Pochettino instead of Sherwood or AVB? Not at all. A team that loses twice to Stoke, loses at home to Newcastle, WBA, Leicester, gives little or no effort at the end of the season and has Paulinho, Lamela and Chiriches anywhere near the first XI isn't that good to me. I've seen some ropey Spurs sides since I've been following them - since 1958 incidentally.

Icing on the cake for Stoke as Mame Biram Diouf attacks the near post to force the ball over the line following Marko Arnautovic's cross. Too easy.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

That bad miss by Jonathan Walters has put paid to his chances of finishing this match. Peter Odemwingie is on for Stoke.

Five minutes remaining. Stoke are heading for three easy points. Spurs are heading for a summer clearout.

Jonathan Walters right in front of Hugo Lloris. Surely this is 3-0. No...the Stoke forward fluffs an easy chance. Despite the scoreline, the Potters have failed to take advantage of the extra man.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Another Spurs change, Mousa Dembele for Erik Lamela. Midfielder for midfielder.

Around 1,800 Spurs fans have made the journey north. They find their voice as a rare chance sees Harry Kane go close following a one-two with Christian Eriksen. Too little too late.

Luke Wilson: This is another terrible result. Irrespective of this Spurs are undoubtedly better under Pochettino than AVB or Sherwood.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Remember Stephen Ireland? The former Manchester City and Aston Villa player? He's about to come on for Charlie Adam who receives a standing ovation as he makes his way off.

12th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 13th, 9th - Stoke's final position in the Premier League table in the last six seasons. They could still finish eighth this term if they win this.

  13. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

This game is petering out as far as Spurs are concerned. Actually, it's never got going for Mauricio Pochettino's side. One win in six games for Tottenham unless the 10-man visitors can find three goals. Highly unlikely.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

First change of the afternoon. Nacer Chadli has done little in the Spurs engine room and he is replaced by Roberto Soldado. Can the Spaniard spark Tottenham into life?

Charlie Adam is on fire. The Scot is denied his second goal of the afternoon by a full-stretch dive by Hugo Lloris after a clever run by the midfielder. Stoke are eyeing a third goal.

Adam, London: This is just ridiculous, why start Chiriches at centre back when Dier could move there and Yedlin could play at right back? He has just cost us any chance of a comeback.

  17. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Marko Arnautovic tries to release Mame Biram Diouf but over hits his pass and a great chance goes begging. Stoke have become a little careless. There is still work to be done.

Stoke have been camped inside their own half since Spurs went down to 10 men. But the Potters defence has been solid all afternoon, with Tottenham being forced to feed off scraps.

Vlad Chiricheș was brought in to replace Danny Rose who is suffering a slight groin problem. The Romanian has let his team down badly.

Paul, Telford: Pochettino recently said Spurs need a big summer. A big summer sale. Sell at ANY price - Lamela, Soldado, Kaboul, Paulinho, Fazio, Adebayor, Chiriches. These guys bring NOTHING to our team.
