The play-offs never fail to live up to the hype, do they? And, don't forget, we're still only at the halfway stage.

Swindon Town came from behind to beat Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, as Nathan Byrne scored a stoppage-time winner.

And Preston North End take a narrow advantage back to Deepdale after Jermaine Beckford's sixth-minute strike earned them a 1-0 win at Chesterfield.

Preston and Chesterfield are back in action first on Sunday, 10 May at 12:15 BST, before Swindon and Sheffield United meet in their second leg on Monday, 11 May at 19:45 BST.

Preston's finest? They'll be more than happy to take a 1-0 lead into Sunday's second leg at Deepdale.

Chesterfield boss Paul Cook tells Sky Sports: "There's no disappointment, football's a tough game and you can't always win.

"We wanted our boys to turn up tonight and do themselves justice and I felt they did that in abundance.

"We'll turn up again on Sunday. The next goal in this tie is everything. If we can get it we're right back in it."

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson tells Sky Sports: "We had to defend well as a team and work extremely hard. We had some opportunities on the counter-attack, which we knew we'd get because of the strikeforce we've got. It's nice to have a goal to take back to Deepdale.

"It was a feisty encounter - there were a few tackles flying in and both teams were having a right good go, but credit to Chesterfield for making it a good game, as we did.

"Overall we're satisfied but we've still got a job to do."

Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper tells Sky Sports: "We never really settle for draws - we try to win every game. I felt the game was becoming stretched and felt we could win it.

"But one goal changes everything. Away goals don't play a part, so there's a long way to go yet."

Preston goalscorer Jermaine Beckford tells Sky Sports: "We were up against class opposition so to get a goal as early as we did, it just settled the nerves for us a little bit, especially with what happened at the weekend.

"I think the boys conducted themselves in a great manner and we got exactly what we deserved from the game."

Swindon Town midfielder Yaser Kasim tells Sky Sports: "I feel if we're in control of the game and it's not too end-to-end we'll get the win, and to a certain extent we were in control of it. But don't get too carried away - there's one more game to go."

Preston North End captain Tom Clarke tells Sky Sports: "It's a big game with big players and everyone wants to win. We'll do anything we can to win. We've got the advantage but it's going to be another tough game come Sunday. We're going to be ready for it."

Swindon Town goalscorer Nathan Byrne tells Sky Sports: "They're a good team. If we prepare like we did for this game then we can get to Wembley - but I don't think we're anywhere near there yet."

"We knew coming here would be a tough game but I think we started brilliantly in the first 20 minutes and got the goal we deserved. But they're a good team and passed it well, so we had to defend well and I think we did that."

Swindon Town goalscorer Nathan Byrne tells Sky Sports: "We wanted to come here and get the win. You thought it was going to be one of those days when we missed the penalty, but the boys have got a lot of fight and I think we deserved it in the end. We showed what we could do in the second half."

And Swindon Town have gone up the other end and nicked it!

Nathan Byrne bursts forward into the Sheffield United half and fires a low, bouncing shot across Mark Howard and into the far corner via the post.

But, after Swindon take about five goes to get the ball properly clear, the attack fizzles out. Two minutes to play.

Chesterfield are throwing everything at Preston here. Sam Morsy's shot is blocked before Daniel Jones fires the follow-up high and wide. It simply won't go in for the Spireites.

Swindon backs are against the wall. Now Matt Done almost steals in at the near post, but again it's behind for a corner.
