Swansea put in another impressive shift as the referee's whistle brings an end to a miserable afternoon for Newcastle.

There will be four minutes of added time at the Liberty Stadium - that's four minutes too long for Newcastle.

Aleksandar Mitrovic gets a talking to from the referee Mike Jones but, to be fair to the striker, he has shown more fire in his brief cameo than most of his team-mates did in the whole match.

Aleksandar Mitrovic was booked within minutes of coming on against Southampton last week and he's back in the book again here shortly after coming on. He clashes with Swans left-back Neil Taylor before going into the book of referee Mike Jones.

Some relief for Newcastle as Swansea boss Garry Monk decides to bring the menacing Jefferson Montero off. The winger gets an even bigger ovation than Andre Ayew as he goes off and Wayne Routledge comes on.

I can't imagine the Newcastle players or fans are having too much fun at the Liberty Stadium. If there's a team you do not want to be down to 10 men against, then Swansea would be right up there. 

It's now a damage limitation exercise for the visitors.

Swansea, as you would now expect, are controlling the game and possession as they knock it round with Newcastle firmly on the back foot.

Swansea are denied by the woodwork for a second time. Gylfi Sigurdsson curls a left-foot shot at Newcastle's goal and his effort comes off the underside of the crossbar before bouncing away.

The second half has started. Ten-man Newcastle bring on defender Steven Taylor for midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who was injured at the end of the first half.

To say it's been Swansea's half would be an understatement. Bafetimbi Gomis put them ahead before Newcastle had Daryl Janmaat sent off for persistently fouling Jefferson Montero, who hit the post with a shot.
