  1. FULL-TIME

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

Swansea put in another impressive shift as the referee's whistle brings an end to a miserable afternoon for Newcastle.

You can get all the reaction to the match and the rest of today's games here.

  2. Post update

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

There will be four minutes of added time at the Liberty Stadium - that's four minutes too long for Newcastle.

  4. Post update

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

Aleksandar Mitrovic gets a talking to from the referee Mike Jones but, to be fair to the striker, he has shown more fire in his brief cameo than most of his team-mates did in the whole match.

    Mitrovic receives a yellow card
  5. Handbags

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

Aleksandar Mitrovic was booked within minutes of coming on against Southampton last week and he's back in the book again here shortly after coming on. He clashes with Swans left-back Neil Taylor before going into the book of referee Mike Jones.

  7. SUBSTITUTION

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

Some relief for Newcastle as Swansea boss Garry Monk decides to bring the menacing Jefferson Montero off. The winger gets an even bigger ovation than Andre Ayew as he goes off and Wayne Routledge comes on.

  8. Post update

    Swansea City 2-0 Newcastle United

I can't imagine the Newcastle players or fans are having too much fun at the Liberty Stadium. If there's a team you do not want to be down to 10 men against, then Swansea would be right up there.

It's now a damage limitation exercise for the visitors.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

Andre Ayew gets a standing ovation from the home fans as he comes off and is replaced by Nathan Dyer.

Swansea, as you would now expect, are controlling the game and possession as they knock it round with Newcastle firmly on the back foot.

  15. GOAL - Swansea 2-0 Newcastle

    Andre Ayew

Swansea winger Jefferson Montero - yes, him again - is the provider as the Ecuadorian crosses for Andre Ayew to head in his second goal of the season. I'm not sure there's any way back for Newcastle from this judging on events so far.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Swansea are denied by the woodwork for a second time. Gylfi Sigurdsson curls a left-foot shot at Newcastle's goal and his effort comes off the underside of the crossbar before bouncing away.

  17. SUBSTITUTION

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

The second half has started. Ten-man Newcastle bring on defender Steven Taylor for midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who was injured at the end of the first half.

  20. HALF-TIME

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

To say it's been Swansea's half would be an understatement. Bafetimbi Gomis put them ahead before Newcastle had Daryl Janmaat sent off for persistently fouling Jefferson Montero, who hit the post with a shot.

  21. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Jefferson Montero almost makes Swansea's extra man count straight away when he cuts in from the left flank and unleashes a low shot which comes back off the post.

  22. RED CARD - Newcastle

    Daryl Janmaat

    Janmaat is sent off

This has been coming. Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat loses possession to Jefferson Montero and pulls the winger back to foul the Swansea player for a fourth time in the game. Referee Mike Jones gives Janmaat a second yellow and bring an early end to the Magpies defender's afternoon.

  23. Post update

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Newcastle offer a rare threat going forward. Gabriel Obertan runs on to a pass to the inside right of the box and sends in a low cross for striker Papiss Cisse. Swansea defender Federico Fernandez intercepts but gets caught by Cisse in the process.

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

This lad Jefferson Montero is having a storming start to the season. The Swansea left winger skips past the challenge of Daryl Janmaat and gets to the byline before his cut back is intercepted by Magpies midfielder Jack Colback.

Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat needs to be careful. He is already on a yellow card and fouls Swansea winger Jefferson Montero for the third time in the game so far.

  28. Analysis

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

    Jonjo Shelvey

BBC Sport's Dafydd Pritchard at the Liberty Stadium: "There are high hopes for Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey this season, with some tipping the former Liverpool man to add to his solitary England cap sometime soon. Shelvey impressed in the opening 2-2 draw at Chelsea, and he has controlled the opening 20 minutes against Newcastle.

"It was his delightful through ball which set Bafetimbi Gomis on his way for Swansea's goal, and his crisp passing has allowed Swansea to dictate the pace of this game. The one negative? Shelvey is one of eight players sporting garish lime green boots."

  29. In-form Gomis

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

  30. Good decision

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Newcastle appeared to have a decent claim for Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis's goal being offside but replays show that Daryl Janmaat was playing him onside - just.

  31. YELLOW CARD

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat clatters into Jefferson Montero again and becomes the first player in referee Mike Jones's book as he gets a yellow card.

  32. Post update

    Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United

Newcastle have their first effort in anger. Gabriel Oberton powers in a low shot which Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski pushes round the post for a corner.

  34. GOAL - Swansea 1-0 Newcastle

    Bafetimbi Gomis

Swansea's goal has been coming but Newcastle will feel it was offside. Jonjo Shelvey slides a pass through to Gomis and, after there is no flag from the assistant referee, Gomis rounds the keeper and slots in a shot.

    Swansea City 0-0 Newcastle United

Just in case you're wondering what Newcastle's away kit looks like...

  36. Post update

    Swansea City 0-0 Newcastle United

The home side have started strongly and Newcastle had to have their defensive wits about them to clear a corner from which Swansea were building up some pressure.

  37. Post update

    Swansea City 0-0 Newcastle United

Jefferson Montero's pace and trickery caused Chelsea all sorts of problems last week and Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat fouls the Swansea winger to let him know he's there so to speak.

  40. Beattie on Swansea and Monk

Swansea City v Newcastle United (15:00 BST)

James Beattie, Swansea forwards coach on Football Focus earlier on:  "There are very good players here. Last week's 2-2 draw at Chelsea was a culmination of a lot of things - hard work in training Stamford Bridge and a good strategy.

"As manager Garry Monk was growing up and progressing as a player he was always a student of the game. The way he's taken the management opportunity is second to none."

  42. Newcastle's promising start

    Swansea v Newcastle (15:00 BST)

    Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren

Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren's first game in charge of the club ended with an entertaining 2-2 draw against Southampton on then first weekend of top-flight action and he has not ruled out any more new arrivals.

"There's still a long way to go in terms of settling everybody down. There are a few who have been left out who are obviously not happy - and that's normal - and a few who have a bit to prove," he said.

"Pre-season, the first game, another week's training - we are getting towards what we want to move on with, and still with two weeks to go, things will happen in the window.

     "We will wait and see."

  43. Magpies go for a wander

Swansea City v Newcastle United (15:00 BST)

  44. Monk unhappy with lack of credit

Swansea City v Newcastle United (15:00 BST)

    Swansea manager Garry Monk

Swansea provided one of the surprises of the opening round of the Premier League season last weekend when they came back from a goal down twice to draw at champions Chelsea.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho's criticism of Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has since grabbed the headlines and Swans boss Garry Monk believes that has denied his side the credit they deserved for the result.

"It's [Swansea's performance] been overshadowed. The media's focused on the wrong thing," said Monk.

"They should have focused on what a good performance my players put in."

  50. Welcome

Swansea City v Newcastle United (15:00 BST)

Hi football fans. We should be in for a treat today at the Liberty Stadium if both teams continue where they left off last week.

Swansea earned an impressive 2-2 draw at reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, while Newcastle also looked good as they finished with the same scoreline at home to Southampton.

Let's hope for more of the same.
