Unbelievable scenes! The home fans were still celebrating as Crystal Palace respond immediately. Bakary Sako superbly keeps a cross in play, hooking the ball into the path of Joel Ward, who fires in.

Chelsea needed to find something and they have through a perhaps unlikely hero. Radamel Falcao steers a fine header from Pedro's cross into the back of the net for his first goal for the club.

"Yannick Bolasie should've scored there. At 2-0 it might have even been game over. I'm quite surprised by the changes Jose Mourinho has made here - he's chasing the game and brought on two inexperienced players."

Oh, how did he miss that! Yannick Bolasie shoots wide from all of six yards and with Thibaut Courtois nowhere to be seen. That would have sealed the win.

Oh we could be in for a real shock here! Just as Chelsea looked to be turning up the pressure, they are caught out by Palace. Yannick Bolasie squares a pass into the area forBakary Sakowho, after evading a challenge, smashes the ball into the back of the net.

No-nonsense defending from Damien Delaney as he puts himself in the way of a Branislav Ivanovic shot. He's down, clutching a, shall we say, delicate area. Taken one for the team there.

Yannick Bolasie, back from compassionate leave following the death of his father, is brought on for Wilfried Zaha. More for the Chelsea defence to think about.

Next, Thibaut Courtois has to be alert to keep out Bakary Sako's low effort. Palace are causing a few problems for the Chelsea defence at the moment.

Unconvincing defending by Chelsea as a ball into the box deflects off Kurt Zouma, it catches Branislav Ivanovic off guard as his attempt to then clear the loose ball almost ends up in his own net, but he is able to clear at the second attempt.

Connor Wickham then can't quite connect with Bakary Sako's teasing ball across the face of goal.

PENALTY APPEAL

Another Chelsea shout for a penalty but I'm not having this one. Diego Costa chases a long ball and gets into the area, Damien Delaney slides in and puts the ball out for a corner. Costa wants a penalty, the Chelsea fans want a penalty. Nothing given.

  "Chelsea will be expecting more of Eden Hazard in the second half, and they will need Cesc Fabregas to get on the ball more and influence things as well."  

Thibaut Courtois launches a slightly panicky clearance high into the air but not out of play and Jason Puncheon picks it up, tries to get into the area but Cesc Fabregas is in the right place to halt his run and clear.

"There's been lots of good play and good defending from Palace in the first half but you sense it's going to be harder for them as the game goes on and they get tired. Chelsea's best players really haven't turned up to the level you would expect so far."

Now Diego Costa has come alive! 

The striker shoots hard and low from the right side of the area, Alex McCarthy keeps it out but pushes the ball straight to Cesc Fabregas in the middle of the area. He'll surely score? No! McCarthy reacts quickly to produce a superb double-save.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be hoping to have more of an involvement inside the penalty area.

Wondering why I haven't mentioned Diego Costa much? He has barely been involved, having managed just six touches of the ball so far but he is inches away from connecting with a Cesar Azpilicueta cross.

A few groans of frustration from the home crowd as Chelsea squander another promising build-up. 

Pedro, who has swapped sides with Eden Hazard and is now operating on the left, passes to Cesc Fabregas on the edge of the area but the midfielder is loath to shoot, instead teeing up Gary Cahill to launch a shot well, well over from 25 yards. 

Great chance for Crystal Palace! 

Wilfried Zaha skips the challenge of several lunging feet to get inside the area and places the ball into the path of Yohan Cabaye on the edge of the area. 

He's been left unmarked and only has Thibaut Courtois to beat, but the shot lacks conviction and is straight into the Chelsea stopper's hands. 

Let off for the hosts.

Both sides very much using their flanks, with Chelsea mostly using their right and Crystal Palace attacking down the left. The hosts have had almost 70% of possession.

Chelsea have been doing most of the attacking but Crystal Palace's pace is capable of catching them on the counter. A good ball from midfield cuts out Branislav Ivanovic and releases Bakary Sako, whose low drive is pushed behind by Thibaut Courtois. 

From the corner, Palace's fourth of the game, Yohan Cabaye shoots way over.

Diego Costa is not happy. Replays show the striker getting a shove from Damien Delaney and it almost lights the fuse. Costa keeps it calm though. For now.

The ball comes in from the corner and Kurt Zouma tumbles to the floor under the challenge of Connor Wickham. Nothing given, but a tad clumsy from Wickham.

This if the first time I've properly seen Pedro in a Chelsea shirt and I've been impressed with what I've seen so far. Lively and full of running, he is certainly taking a bit of the pressure off of Eden Hazard and he goes close as he curls a shot just wide from the edge of the area.

Next, Willian fires over after good work by Pedro. 

Chelsea are dominating possession, but Crystal Palace are largely limiting the hosts to half chances so far.

First shot on target and it comes from Chelsea but it is nothing more than a bit of shot-saving practice for Alex McCarthy as he gets down to gather a Cesc Fabregas strike that lacked bite.

Crystal Palace are focusing their early attacks down Chelsea's right, targeting Branislav Ivanovic.

The full-back has not had the best of starts to the season and has been off the pace a little in these early stages. 

The pressure is certainly on, especially with full-back Baba Rahman watching on from the bench today...

Branislav Ivanovic is then back defending as Wilfried Zaha attempts a shot from the left, which Ivanovic blocks and the ball loops onto the roof of the net.

Palace have their third corner inside just seven minutes but it comes to nothing.

He has Chelsea's first shot on goal, but his effort strikes a defender and the ball rebounds to Branislav Ivanovic, who hacks way over the bar.

Yannick Bolasie is back in the Crystal Palace squad after he was away on compassionate leave following the death of his father.

Mourinho sought out Bolasie before kick off and gave him a hug.

Today they face them with their defence yet to really get up and running.

"Meanwhile, Crystal Palace continued their strong start by beating Aston Villa and the pressure is off them a bit here.

"Even if they lose at Stamford Bridge, the Eagles will have played two of last season's top four in their first four games, and still have six points. Everything is very rosy for them at the moment."

Visitors Crystal Palace are facing perhaps the most difficult away trip in world football but Alan Pardew's men do have reason to be optimistic.
