I understand that there are a lot of media outlets and they have to come up with stories. That means blowing a small story into a big one. At the moment with Gareth it appears that having a pacy player, with a good shot, who can put defenders off balance and can do so many things well is actually a problem.

Gareth Bale had his first interview in Spanish this week. If I'm being honest it wasn't exactly a Jeremy Paxman grilling.

I want to play well to help the team. The team is really united and we want to win each match and all of the titles.

Marca journalist Juan Castro has been talking to BBC World Service's Sportsworld about Gareth Bale.

"People are really unhappy about his performance in the pre-season and even his bad second season last year so everyone is focusing on him," he said.

"His ideal position is on the left side but in this position is playing Cristiano Ronaldo so he won't move there. Gareth Bale is playing more in the middle."

Could he move to Manchester United?

"Impossible for several reasons, firstly he has cost 100m euros and the president won't make this transfer for sure, at least not this season. Two other reasons - he has done his first interview in Spanish which is a sign he wants to stay and Rafa Benitez, his coach, has defended him a lot."

Ten to go. Hard to see Malaga coming back. They put so much work into keeping Barcelona at bay.

    Thomas Vermaelen

Some great attacking players on show but Thomas Vermaelen opens the scoring.Luis Suarez's cross is parried by keeper Carlos Kameni and the ex-Arsenal defender volleys the rebound into the net.

Maybe Kameni could have done better there, but I think he'd already bailed his team out enough.

And now the Cameroon keeper - who did not concede in either game against Barca last season - holds onto a Rafinha shot from outside the box.

Carlos Kameni pulls off another great save from Lionel Messi's 25-yard drive. Luis Suarez blazes over the rebound but was offside anyway.

If La Liga fantasy football is a thing, Kameni's going to be getting a lot of points - that's his 10th save I think.

Luis Suarez's cross is held by Carlos Kameni. Malaga can't even get it to the halfway line.

Can the visitors hang on to make it three La Liga games unbeaten against the Catalan giants?
