We'll do it all again against Poland next month. See you then, cheers.

"We were just a fraction away tonight from it being a perfect performance. Chris Martin was excellent when he went on and caused havoc. I think Steven Fletcher's link up play and work-rate was fantastic as well.

"Okay, we didn't have the shots at goal we want but, I believed at all times that we could get an equaliser again.

"With all due respect to Poland, I don't think anybody can be as good in possession [as Germany].

"Somebody out there said: 'you didn't attack them too often' - ask Brazil how they got on against them?"

John, Glasgow: Despite all the hype and all the positivity here we are again now looking more likely to come up short and exit the competition as Northern Ireland, England and Wales all going qualify, some of Gordon comments tonight are totally baffling, Steven Fletcher was superb, I don't know how he can say what he said, just so disappointed.

Anon: Gordon Strachan is talking nonsense if he thinks the players gave their all over the two games. Apart from the first 10/12 minutes of the Georgia game we were rubbish. And tonight the Germans were just toying with us - they could've scored at will if needed.

Asked whether he was disappointed Scotland hadn't shown similar energy in the defeat by Georgia, Gordon Strachan replies: "I don't know which people you're talking about."

"Top managers phoned me and said 'you did enough not to get beat [against Georgia] and you put a great effort in'. So, 'people' is just a throwaway line.

"But the people who know the game knew that the players tried as much as they could the other night."

"There's a couple of times in my managerial career where I get angry or sad. Actually, at this point, you feel for the players.

"Whatever you think, over two games they've put in some amount of work. Sometimes football is more than what you drink; what you eat and how you train.

"It's inside you. No-one can tell me that every one of those guys has something inside them that drives them on.

"To stand up, after going behind to the world champions [twice] and to keep coming back, keep plugging away - they can be proud of their performances."

Brian from Forfar: Strachan must go now. Recent results prove that, 1 point from 9 in last 3 games.

Adam in Edinburgh: Scotland have nothing to be proud of. As usual we tried when we were 'up against it' yet didn't when we had the chance to really go for it. Strachan should hang his head, he's been great for us so far but messed up royally the last 2 games in misplaced tactics and belief.

David, Isle of Lewis: We can draw with Poland, win out last game and still get third.

Stewart, a Killie fan: Gordon's boys did us proud tonight... gave their all. Can't ask anymore than that.

"I think Scotland did well to hold them to 3-2. They were outclassed but the damage wasn't done tonight, it was done on Friday (against Georgia). Ireland have dug it out [against Georgia] in a way that Scotland couldn't."
