The sun has come out. Can that change Bournemouth's fortunes? As it stands, Newcastle will leapfrog them in the table. 

He might play like Andrea Pirlo, but Harry Arter has just been booked for pulling down Moussa Sissoko. Bit of a lull in the game now, which will suit Newcastle.

Bournemouth's Matt Ritchie is seeing plenty of the ball, switching it to the left, then later on picking the ball up on the right to win a free-kick.

Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba blocks the run of Andrew Surman and the home fans appeal for a penalty. Very similar to Fabricio Coloccini's challenge on Steven Fletcher, for which the Argentine was sent off against Sunderland.

Cleared once again. Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who's had a quiet game, is being replaced by Papiss Cisse.

Newcastle's Ayoze Perez goes down under the challenge of Simon Francis, but it amounted to nothing. The Cherries faithful are unhappy. Down the other end, Matt Ritchie wins another corner. 

"C'mon Bournemouth" shout the home fans. It's their 11th corner of the game, but if they have been poor today, it has been at set-pieces.

Harry Arter, Dan Gosling and Matt Ritchie are really pulling the strings in midfield for the Cherries today. They have been indefatigable. 

Bournemouth's Junior Stanislas has taken a whack to the head, so the referee has stopped play. Time to work out what's going on for the Cherries. The attending 11,155 fans might be wondering... 

I'm not sure what more Bournemouth can do. Other than keep their composure. 

Matt Ritchie is down the right again, and his swirling cross catches the wind and almost catches out Robbie Elliot but he is wise to it and cracks a disbelieving smile soon after.

"Constant pressure from Bournemouth, but if you have this kind of pressure you really must score. Because if Newcastle break away and get a second then it's game over. 

"I've just seen Eddie Howe taking a swig of water - I think he might be wanting something stronger! His side should be miles ahead here - if this was a boxing fight you'd call it off."

Two more Bournemouth chances go begging. Matt Richie cross from the right and Dan Gosling mis-hits his effort despite being unmarked eight yards out from goal. Then Junior Stanislas whacks it over from 12 yards. Terrible finishing.

Newcastle almost the architects of their own downfall here. Daryl Janmaat plays a pass back to Rob Elliot and somehow he digs it out. Fabricio Coloccini then blocks Matt Ritchie's shot. Pinball in there! 

Kev: If only Callum Wilson was fit I think Bournemouth would easily be mid-table by now. Such hard luck for the Cherries. Hope they stay up.
