Elsewhere in round three, St Johnstone beat Rangers, Hibernian knocked out Premiership leaders Aberdeen, Ross County thrashed Falkirk 7-0, Dundee United required extra-time to overcome Dunfermline, Inverness won at Livingston and Hearts left it late to beat Kilmarnock.
Championship Greenock Morton caused the biggest upset of round three, beating Premiership Motherwell 3-2 after extra-time
Back in March, Celtic won the Scottish League Cup with a 2-0 win over Dundee United at Hampden. Celtic beat Raith Rovers in the last round of this season's competition
