  1. The Italian jobpublished at 23:05

"Perfect!" is what I'd imagine Claudio Ranieri is saying in this wonderful image below.

Who'd have thought a year ago that Ranieri's Leicester would be top of the Premier League and Mourinho's Chelsea scrapping around at the bottom.

Not me. And probably not these two blokes. Leicester go to Everton next weekend aiming to stay top at Christmas, while Chelsea host Sunderland in a *cough cough* relegation battle.

    Until then...arrivederci!

  2. Stats you need to knowpublished at 22:57

    • Leicester have scored in every Premier League game this season
    • Jamie Vardy has now scored or assisted in 14 consecutive Premier League games
    • No team with 35+ points after the first 16 games of a Premier League season has finished outside the top four
  3. Foxes powering onpublished at 22:54

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri said his team played with "electricity" and, wired to a treadmill, they could have powered a small village tonight.

They clocked up 114km between them compared to Chelsea's 110km, and performed 488 sprints to their opponent's 487.

As our graphic below shows they lit up almost the whole field.

Any clubs eyeing up Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy had better think again. Why? Because Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri says so,

"No-one can buy Vardy or Mahrez in January," says the Italian. "They don't have the money and they don't have a price."

BBC Sport chief football writer at King Power Stadium

Does this latest defeat - Chelsea's ninth in the Premier League this season - spell trouble for Jose Mourinho's future. He doesn't think so.

"The last question (about my future) is always the same," says the Portuguese.

"The only thing I can say is that I want to be the manager. I have no doubts and I think you know me well enough to know that I am not afraid of a big challenge and in this moment it is a really big challenge.

"I want to stay and I hope Mr Abramovich and the board want me to stay because I want to stay."

  8. Ashamed Mourinho targets top sixpublished at 22:41

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

With Chelsea already 14 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, Jose Mourinho has been forced to adjust his expectations.

"We can't finish top four, but we can still finish top six because so many teams are dropping points," he tells BBC Sport. "But at the moment we're in a zone where I feel ashamed."

  9. Mourinho 'can't understand defensive errors'published at 22:38

Jose Mourinho says he can't fathom how Chelsea allowed Leicester to score their two goals. Practice hasn't made perfect for the Blues this week.

"Today we made two defensive mistakes and we pay. They were goals that I cannot accept. They are goals that were studied and we have practiced for three days. I feel bad because I don't understand how we can concede these goals."

On his misfiring attack: "At the moment it costs us a lot to score goals. Look through our numbers and it is clear it is difficult to score goals. Why? Because the players whose job it is to score goals aren't."

Leicester have been working on their shooting practice more than Chelsea - at least on the evidence of this game. The Foxes had nine shots, five on target, with those two crucially finding the onion bag.

  11. We're not in a relegation battle - Mourinhopublished at 22:32

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

Phil McNulty - our man at King Power Stadium - has been listening to what else Jose Mourinho has been saying in his post-match news conference.

"I accept we are in the relegation zone but I don't accept we are in a relegation battle," says the Chelsea boss.

"You look at the table and we are there but you think you are in a relegation battle if you think you are there for three or four months. I don't think that."

  12. 'I don't want to wake up'published at 22:29

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri on Sky Sports: "There was a lot of electricity tonight, without that we are a normal team but with the fans pushing us we are very happy. They continue to dream but we must continue to keep our feet on the ground.,

"I told my players, five more points and we are safe. I think like this I put that target at the beginning of the season, when we achieve 40 points, we will change our goal.

"It's magical time we must continue to work hard because I don't want to wake up, I want to continue to dream with our fans."

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri speaking to Sky Sports: "We made a fantastic one hour and the last 30 minutes we suffered a lot but they are the champions. I'm very pleased with our performance, we played compact and tried to do our best until the end and that is good.

"When we play with pace and one or two touches and coordinate the movements they know very well, this is our strength. All the players believe in each other and help each other and only in this way can you win against big champions."

Chelsea huffed and puffed, but they lacked quality in the final third to hurt Leicester. Eleven attempts but only two (in green) found the target.

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

Earlier, we assumed/hoped Riyad Mahrez was joking about Leicester still being focused on accruing enough points to beat the drop. Turns out he wasn't.

Mahrez was just repeating the mantra of his boss Claudio Ranieri, who says he is still focusing on reaching 40 points. Seriously...

  17. Manager reaction - Hazardpublished at 22:15

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Eden Hazard's first-half injury: "He made the decision to come off. So it must be a serious injury. His first reaction was 'I can't continue', his second reaction was 'I want to try', but after his first step back on the pitch he said he couldn't. He's injured clearly."

  18. Top four has gone - Mourinhopublished at 22:12

    Leicester 2-1 Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has caved in. He's finally admitted the top four is beyond his Chelsea side. The Blues boss only said six words in answer to the 'top four question' - but those six words were a huge admission.

"The top four is gone - clearly," he tells Sky Sports.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "We were the best team for 20-25 minutes, maybe for a maximum of 30 minutes. They were best team for an hour.

"When some of your players don't hit the levels they are capable of it is hard to see. This season we are doing so bad for some reason, not all of them.

"To turn things around, I know only one way - working at the top level. Day by day in training I have no complaints with them. But is it frustrating to see what they are doing in training and what they do in matches? Clearly yes."
