Celtic's third corner of the afternoon skids through a congested box to Jozo Simunovic at the back post area but the defender is maybe not expecting it to reach him and his header is weak and easily held by Neil Alexander.

All of a sudden, Hearts threaten as Gavin Reilly puts Dedryk Boyata under pressure and the Celtic defender has to stretch to hack the ball clear near his own penalty spot as goalkeeper Craig Gordon comes sliding out to get involved.

It's one-way traffic at the moment as Callum McGregor, then Nadir Ciftci threaten with headers. Hearts just can't get close enough to shut down the Celtic attacks. Too many brussel sprouts?

"The usual fast and furious start to this fixture. It looks all very congested in the middle of the park with pinball passes and flying tackles. Celtic slightly on top with Rogic and McGregor in particular looking spritely."

Tom Rogic is busy as he picks up from a poor Prince Buaben header and jinks past a couple of Hearts men to get a shot away at the edge of the penalty box but it's a comfortable save for Neil Alexander.

Hearts are playing with three sitting midfielders in Buaben, Gomis and Djoum, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. At the moment it looks like Gomis is playing on the right rather than in the middle.

Callum McGregor scurries forward with purpose and his low delivery finds Tom Rogic in the Hearts penalty area, with the Australian midfielder's first-time effort deflected behind for a corner. The set-piece sails over the danger area, with no one at the back post...

Celtic are aiming to bounce back from a shock 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell. The champions have won just three of their last eight outings, with a disappointing Europa League campaigning shadowing those less than flattering statistics.

Hearts drew 0-0 at St Johnstone last weekend, playing more than an hour with 10 men after Juanma's sending off.

There might be a few Hearts fans who are sad that they will not be able to pass on a selection of festive greetings to Leigh Griffiths.

The injured Celtic striker is a Hibs fan and former player at Easter Road which always guarantees a warm 'welcome' at Tynecastle.

However, I'm sure most of the home support are glad that the 25-year-old does not have the chance to add to his 19 goals today. His replacement, Nadir Ciftci, has four for the season...
