  1. It's cold out

  2. Matches off

For anyone who has ventured outside this morning this won't come as surprising news - some football fixtures are falling foul of the freezing weather conditions.

Five Scottish matches have been postponed due to frozen pitches, while there will be inspections at other grounds.

    Games off in Scotland

Dumbarton v Queen of the South in the Championship

Ayr v Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline v Albion Rovers in League One.

Elgin City v Stirling Albion and Berwick Rangers v Arbroath in League Two

    Pitch inspection

St Johnstone's Premiership game with Hamilton faces a 10:00 GMT inspection.

  3. Get Involved - football kit problems

    #bbcfootball

Like every Saturday, we have teamed up with the Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live to ask for your football stories.

Today we want to hear about the problems and wonders of football kit colours at park level.

Wayne Harrison: Teams with black/blue stripes on front and black on back of shirt, black shorts/socks..keep passing to me as a referee

    Sean Bond: Parachute sleeves.

Ahh... the kits that fit no one, spare fabric just bellowing in the wind.

    Daily Star

    Daily Star

More of the same in the Daily Star, who say Louis van Gaal 'stuck the boot into Liverpool by insisting Manchester United will never spend 26 years in the title wilderness'.

Where is this mysterious 'title wilderness'?

  5. Back pages

    Daily Mirror

    Daily Mirror

The Daily Mirror stokes up the Liverpool-Manchester United rivalry by highlighting Louis van Gaal's comments that he "cannot imagine" United going 26 years without a title again, as they did from 1967-1993.

The Merseysiders look set to equal that mark this season having last won the title in 1990.

The Sun also focuses on the Liverpool boss "saying no" to Manchester United, in the lead-up to the sides meeting at Anfield on Sunday,

  7. Back pages

    Daily Mail

Here's a look at some of the back pages this morning. We usually try to bring you a good mix of a variety of newspapers, but all the broadsheets have gone big on the cricket, so here are the tabloids.

The Daily Mail leads on Jurgen Klopp "snubbing" Manchester United.

  8. Nothing like a Dame?

    Tottenham v Sunderland (12:45 GMT)

Sunderland added to their firepower this week by signing former Hull striker Dame N'Doye on loan until the end of the season from Trabzonspor.

However, the Senegalese international is still waiting for a work visa and will have to sit out today's game at White Hart Lane.

They'll also be without full-back DeAndre Yedlin who is on loan from Spurs and therefore ineligible to face his parent club.

  9. Black Cats aiming for three in a row

    Tottenham v Sunderland, 12:45 GMT

Sunderland striker Fabio Borini is feeling positive...

  10. Can Spurs stay in touch?

    Tottenham v Sunderland (12:45 GMT)

With only one point from their past two league games, fourth-placed Spurs could do with a win against Sunderland to stay in touch with Arsenal and Leicester.

Harry Kane went very close against Leicester - hitting the bar - will he have a bit more luck today and add to his 14 goals in all competitions?

  11. Get Involved - football kits

Danny Baker on Radio 5 live

    Jonathan Howson of Norwich

Each week we team up with the Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live to ask for your football stories.

In honour of Norwich City's outrageous away strip, worn in their defeat at Stoke on Wednesday, today we want to hear about the problems and wonders of football kit colours at park level.

My primary school's footy kit was at least 20 years old and exceedingly itchy... not ideal.

  12. Marking your card

    Premier League fixtures

Sunderland's trip to Tottenham is the early Premier League kick-off at 12:45 GMT - here's what else we can offer you throughout the day:

    Bournemouth v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Chelsea v Everton (15:00 GMT)

Manchester City v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

Newcastle v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

Southampton v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Aston Villa v Leicester (17:30 GMT)

  13. Still rolling, still scoring

    Tottenham v Sunderland (12:45 GMT)

    Jermain Defoe

He seems to have been around forever but age does not seem to wither Jermain Defoe, now 33.

    Surely he should be older?

Anyway, we know he loves scoring goals at the Lane - bagging 143 for Spurs during two spells with the north Londoners.

  14. Good morning

    Jermain Defoe

Two consecutive league wins and five goals scored by former Tottenham favourite Jermain Defoe... can Sunderland win at White Hart Lane to make it three on the trot and drag themselves out of the relegation zone?

Defoe is surely the man who can do it for them...
