  1. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Newport 1-1 Blackburn

Connor Dymond has just hooked a volley onto the post for Newport. There's more goals in this game.

By the way, you can watch Ben Marshall's penalty give Blackburn the lead by clicking on the 'highlights' tab on this page. The equaliser will also be available shortly.

  2. Guidolin 'a welcome addition'

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Alan Curtis

Swansea coach Alan Curtis: "The appointment of Francesco Guidolin is a welcome addition - we have probably been a little short on the coaching and managerial side and I've said in the past I'm quite comfortable if the club wanted to bring someone in. I haven’t met him yet, hopefully I will catch up with him afterwards.

"We are conscious of fact that it is important we don’t get beat but we really want three points to get out of the bottom three."

  4. Upset on the cards?

    Newport 1-1 Blackburn

BBC Sport Wales' Michael Pearlman: "Mark Byrne's thunderous effort has Rodney Parade rocking, this is probably the noisiest the ground has been for football since the Conference play-off semi final with Grimsby.

"Suddenly the Welsh club believe an upset is very much on the cards."

  5. GOAL - Newport 1-1 Blackburn

    Mark Byrne (30 mins)

    Mark Byrne celebrates

    Ooof! Pick that one out.

Newport equalise and equalise in style, skipper Mark Byrne powering a fierce effort in off the underside of the bar.

  6. The man who made Sanchez?

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Alexis Sanchez

Apparently Francesco Guidolin is credited with turning Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez into the player he is today.

He managed the Chilean at Udinese, putting him in a central role where he flourished alongside Antonio Di Natale, the pair scoring 39 goals between them one season.

Maybe he will work his magic with Marvin Emnes?

  9. Team news

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

Swansea City interim manager Alan Curtis makes one change from the team which lost 4-2 at home to Sunderland last Wednesday, with midfielder Jack Cork replacing forward Modo Barrow in what appears to be a switch to a midfield diamond.

    .

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores makes three alterations from the 2-0 defeat to Southampton, with Craig Cathcart, Nathan Ake and Valon Behrami replacing Sebastian Prodl, Jose Holebas and Almen Abdi.

  10. Post update

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

You can listen to build-up on BBC Radio 5 live right now, with commentary on the game from 20:00 GMT.

  11. GREAT SAVE!

    Newport 0-1 Blackburn

An oversized brown bear holding its head in its hands has just caught my eye on the television to my right.

That was the Newport County mascot as he just watched Blackburn keeper Jason Steele tip over Mark Byrne's fierce long-range strike. Cracking effort.

Swansea versus Watford better be as good as this game.

  12. Setting the example

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Quique Sanchez Flores

There's plenty of examples of when appointing a coach from abroad goes wrong, but for a success story Swansea fans need look no further than tonight's opponents.

Appointed in June last year, Quique Sanchez Flores has done a cracking job at Watford, with the Hornets comfortably in midtable with 29 points.

He's proven he can cut it in the Premier League, the only thing up for debate is whether he looks more like Hugh Laurie or Phil Brown.

  13. Furious fans

    Newport 0-1 Blackburn

BBC Sport Wales' Michael Pearlman: "Newport fans reacted with fury to the award of the penalty, making their feelings known as they chanted '1-0 to the referee'. That changed in an instant though, when Rovers' Chris Brown is sent off for a straight red card for a foul on Medy Elito, who has been stretchered off and replaced by Tom Owen-Evans."

  14. Guidolin the disciplinarian

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Teddy Lucic
    Image caption: Remember Teddy?

Former Leeds United, Bologna and Sweden defender Teddy Lucic has told World Service that his former boss in Italy, Franceso Guidolin, is “strict and short tempered, a typical Italian”.

He added: “He was quite popular at Bologna, he gets very involved in the game and doesn't just sit still on the sidelines. I think he will do good."

    Left-field appointments in football

Left-field appointments sometimes work out well. Very well in Bournemouth's case.

  16. RED CARD

    Newport 0-1 Blackburn

Chris Brown looks dejected as he's sent off

It's all happening in this game! Seconds after taking the lead, Blackburn are reduced to 10 men as Chris Brown is shown a straight red for a nasty challenge on Medy Elito. No need.

  17. GOAL - Newport 0-1 Blackburn

    Ben Marshall pen (8 mins)

    Ben Marshall takes a penalty

Perfect start for the Championship side as they take the lead inside 10 minutes. Ben Marshall is brought down inside the area by Scott Barrow and the Blackburn man picks himself up to score from the spot.

  18. 'They don't know what they're doing'

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Steve Claridge

BBC Radio 5 Live at Ten Acres

"Swansea are normally quite good with this sort of thing, but with this one, the appointment of Francesco Guidolin, they don't seem to know what they're doing. They've done things a bit not the norm in the past, but this one doesn't quite go along the same lines."

  19. Just who is Francesco Guidolin?

    Swansea v Watford (20:00 GMT)

    Francesco Guidolin

Bar a brief and unsuccessful spell at Monaco, Francesco Guidolin has spent his entire coaching career in Italy.

He has just shy of 30 years experience in management, but what caught my eye is the fact he managed Palermo on three separate occasions between 2006 and 2008.

Apparently he was sacked by the club's chairman, but after Palermo lost their next two games he was re-instated. Bet that was an awkward telephone conversation.

  20. Late, late line-up change

    Newport 0-0 Blackburn

BBC Sport Wales' Michael Pearlman: "There was a change to the Blackburn Rovers line-up from when the teams were announced, Elliott Bennett replacing Lee Williamson who is now on the bench."
