    Hartlepool 0-0 Derby

Derby are having the better of things and are beginning to make their extra quality obvious against Hartlepool, but it's goalless at the break.

Plenty of desperate blocks and frantic defending from the home side, with Nick Blackman twice going close on his debut and Darren Bent also having a decent attempt saved.

Maybe Pools are just employing rope-a-dope tactics?

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 QPR

Oliver Burke is making the difference for Nottingham Forest, who lead Championship rivals QPR at the interval.

The young winger has set up the only goal of the game so far when his brilliant run ended with an off-target shot that was turned in by Jamie Ward.

Forest are on top and looking the better side.

    Northampton 0-1 MK Dons

Championship strugglers MK Dons are ahead at League Two side Northampton thanks to Ryan Cresswell's own goal, but the hosts will consider themselves unfortunate to be behind at the break.

Sam Hoskins and Marc Richards have both missed decent chances to get the Cobblers back on level terms.

    Hull City 1-0 Brighton

A deserved half-time lead for Hull, who scored through Robert Snodgrass's 41st-minute penalty, in their game against fellow Championship side Brighton.

Snodgrass has also shot wide from a free-kick, two Isaac Hayden efforts have narrowly missed the target and Adama Diomande has headed wide.

Brighton have not scored in four games, not won in six and failed to have an attempt at goal in the opening 45 minutes.

    Eastleigh 0-0 Bolton

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Silverlake Stadium

Like a throw-back to all those games you played in the driving wind and rain and on muddy pitches at school in this first half of soggy football in Hampshire.

Who knows if the surface will hold up long enough for us to get to the final whistle, but there's been no shortage of chances in both goalmouths.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48

Everton are down to 10 men but half-time whistles are blowing around the country. Not too many signs of Cupsets on the cards...

    Everton 1-0 Dagenham

A LOT of blood on the pitch as centre-half Ramiro Funes Mori takes a whack to the nose. Ouch indeed. That will smart.

    Watford 1-0 Newcastle

    Danny Mills
    Final Score

"I was listening to a Newcastle fan on the radio earlier who just said he was going down to Vicarage Road to watch his side go out in the third round.

"It always happens to Newcastle and could do again even though it's a strong side they've put out."

    Peterborough 1-0 Preston

Peterborough are unfortunate not to be 2-0 up. Ricardo Almeida Santos goes through on goal and is brought down by Preston striker Joe Garner who escapes with a warning. It's been a fine half for the hosts. Can they build on their lead and cause an upset?

GOAL - Birmingham 1-1 Bournemouthpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Lee Tomlin (pen) (44 mins)

Lee Tomlin steps up and hammers the spot-kick hard and low down the middle as Adam Legzdins flings himself off stage right.

    Bournemouth are level.

Birmingham were miffed about the penalty - awarded when Jonathan Grounds brought down Eunan O'Kane - but are probably fortunate to be heading down the tunnel level as it stands.

    Eastleigh 0-0 Bolton

    Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 Live at Ten Acres

"This has been a cup tie that hasn't let us down. We have had quality, hard work and endeavour. There have been some close shaves and been nothing more than I expected."

Sam Mantom's superb curling low left-footed drive has handed the League One side the edge of their Championship opponents.

Nightmare stuff for the Bees manager Dean Smith, who left the visitors to take over at the helm at Griffin Park.

Carl Jenkinson with a rasping shot, just tipped over the bar. Hammers hammering at the Wolves' door.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Burnley

Diego Fabbrini of Middlesbrough celebratesImage source, Rex Features

In another all-Championship tie Middlesbrough's pressure finally tells as Diego Fabbrini bundles home from close range to lead Burnley 1-0.

Tough ask for the Clarets to get back into this one - Boro haven't conceded in their last six games.

Elsewhere League One Walsall lead 1-0 at Championship Brentford and League One Colchester are now 2-0 up against Championship strugglers Charlton. A couple of shocks on the cards there.

    Hull 1-0 Brighton

Hull, the 2014 FA Cup runners-up, have taken the lead against Championship rivals Brighton.

Steve Bruce's side are 1-0 up following Robert Snodgrass' penalty, after Lewis Dunk fouled Harry Maguire.

Brighton have shown why they have not scored in their last four games as they have not even had one shot at goal so far.

    Troy Deeney (44 mins)

There we go! It is Watford who take the lead as Troy Deeney runs on to a shocking backpass from Georginio Wijnaldum, skips around Rob Elliot and strokes home.

    Watford 0-0 Newcastle

Still goalless at the Vic but both sides look a threat going forwards.

  19. Postpublished at 15:42

    Arsenal 1-1 Sunderland

Duncan Watmore has been a flicker of light in a miserable season so far for Sunderland. I've been impressed every time I've seen him play.

Once again he is giving the away fans reason to cheer as he shows great persistence on the right, galloping up the pitch to support an attack before crossing for Jeremain Lens. The striker cannot get any direction on his header, though, and Petr Cech claims.

    Pretty even game, this one.
