When Southampton hosted Arsenal at the end of last year, they had not kept a clean sheet in five winless games. Tonight, though, they visit the Emirates in much finer fettle, having won three successive league matches without conceding a goal.

But then Arsenal came into the last meeting between the two having won three on the bounce as well.

Arsenal have lost five games this season in the Premier League. But they have only been hammered once - by Southampton.

On Boxing Day last year, the Saints prevented the Gunners going top of the division with a 4-0 win at St Mary's.

Tonight, there is a chance that Arsene Wenger's side could go top of the league again while also exacting a bit of revenge. Two birds, one stone.
