Here's how Everton are sitting to protect their lead - while West Ham are beginning to push up...
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Close and it should have been closer! Michail Antonio meets Dimitri Payet's free-kick and really should do better with his head - the ball almost trickling wide after poor contact. Looks more like a shoulder than a head actually.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Muhamed Besic really hates giving away free-kicks. He's penalised for a foul on Manuel Lanzini, so picks up the ball and absolutely slams it into his own head. Ouch.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Looks like it's a 4-4-1 from Everton, with Romelu Lukaku the lone man up top. Here he is gamely chasing a nothing ball in the West Ham end - but he's good enough to beat Cheikhou Kouyate, before Pedro Obiang snuffs out the danger.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Changes, changes, for both Everton and West Ham at the break.
Big Andy Carroll is coming on for the Hammers, with Reece Oxford making way - is this Slaven Bilic going for it?
And for Everton Muhamed Besic is on for John Stones - an injury or a re-shuffle?
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Half-time - a very big second one to come.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Romelu Lukaku is chasing the ball down on his own up top, but it's West Ham as Everton hang on for the break...
Everton 1-0 West Ham
But Payet loops it over! Very disappointed with himself.
Three minutes added on.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Dimitri Payet with a superb impression of Zinedine Zidane wins a free-kick on the edge of the Everton box.
The Frenchman to take surely? (Payet, not Zidane)
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Just a few minutes to go before the break and West Ham are beginning to look pretty dangerous...
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Brilliant from Joel Robles! The Everton keeper does so well to dig out Aaron Cresswell's excellent cross.
Emmanuel Emenike was the target but it would have gone in anyway without Robles spreading himself to block!
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Romelu Lukaku is still in a dancing mood - he's all stepovers in front of the West Ham back four. Pedro Obiang picks his pocket though and West Ham swarm forward on the counter - but Everton are roared on by the Goodison support as the challenges go flying in and they emerge back with the ball.
The sending off has really raised the temperature of this one!
Everton 1-0 West Ham
And now Michail Antonio goes in to the book! A late challenge on Ross Barkley has the home fans up in arms.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Can the home side hold out to keep this 1-0 lead for 55 minutes?!
Until now it's pretty much been all Everton - a few dotted chances for the Hammers. Roberto Martinez hasn't made any changes yet - with half-time just under 10 minutes away - but his side have now gone back to a back four.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Kevin Mirallas is off for Everton! Incredible to see a player sent off for two yellow within 35 minutes.
After his earlier card for simulation, this one's for a very, very late challenge on Aaron Cresswell. Definitely a yellow - and one plus one equals red.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Big chance for West Ham! Dimitri Payet's ball in drops deliciously at the back stick for Angelo Ogbonna, who can't get enough on it to turn home from close range.
And the Hammers players then swarm the ref - they're saying Ogbonna had been held back by Ramiro Funes Mori... Not an awful lot in it for me.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Brilliant from Ross Barkley! But just as good from Adrian.
Barkley, full of invention to chest the ball up to himself in a tight space, fires a rocket of a volley at the West Ham goal as the ball is dropping. So powerful, Adrian does really well to parry it out, even if it was quite close to him.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Reece Oxford has really got his work cut out today with Romelu Lukaku. Every time he gets the ball it's a quick turn towards goal, shrugging off all around him.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Aaron Creswell should be called Aaron Crosswell. His delivery is perfect again - here whistling a ball across towards Emmanuel Emenike, just begging for the slightest touch to turn it in.
The Hammers frontman is slow to it though, and the chance is gone.
Everton 1-0 West Ham
Everton want more. Aaron Lennon's legs are pumping down the right wing, but he's blocked and pressed back by a slightly worn-looking Hammers defence. This has been a brilliant opening from Roberto Martinez's men.
