    West Brom 0-1 Norwich

The omens aren't great I'm afraid Norwich fans (you haven't kept a clean sheet away from home all season).

But this is looking promising as Jonny Evans has to stoop down very low in front of his own goal to clear a Martin Olsson cross from the left. He's had a very decent game the ex-Manchester United centre-back.

What kind of a response will we see from West Brom now then? Norwich have raised it. Can the home side do the same?

    Robbie Brady

Big, big goal! The first shot on target goes in - despite Matt Jarvis' best efforts. He takes a swipe and a big miss at Mbokani's knock-down, but here is Robbie Brady following up to slam it home. That changes things at the bottom... Are you watching Newcastle and Sunderland?

Surely Norwich have to go for this? The win's there for the taking with a little bit of the decent stuff.

Patrick Bamford? Dieumerci Mbokani? Steven Naismith from the bench? They've all got it in them...

Josh, what I'd do for a bit of the dishwater stuff we've seen from Man Utd this season...

The players are back out now as Encore Une Fois by Sash! blares around the ground. Surely this second half can't be as dull as the first?

Josh Hammond: No shots on target in the west brom/norwich game? are we sure they haven't got Man United players on both teams?

Very poor. No shots on target.

    West Brom 0-0 Norwich

Gary O'Neil is down holding his face now, but it's pretty much a repeat of Dieumerci Mbokani's spell on the turf earlier. There was nothing at all in his collision with Craig Gardner, and he's up and back on the pitch after sheepishly slinking off.

One minute of time added on. There is some justice...

  11. CLOSE!published at 43 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Norwich

Gary O'Neil is clearly in the mood for a bit of excitement though - he gives the ball away straight to Sessegnon, but the West Brom man is all legs and no composure as he flashes his effort well wide.

I say 'close', but really it was comfortably off target. Was it John Ruddy's terrible socks that put him off?

Much of the trouble about this of course is that the teams are so evenly matched neither can really open up the other.

It is tight, but there's a huge gap between them in the table - West Brom are 14 points ahead, up in 11th. The fine margins, eh?

Five until the break. Will we at least have one save, a decent shot? Another backwards header from Jonny Evans?

    Please, please?

Gary O'Neil is momentarily possessed by the spirit of Zinedine Zidane as he shows a brilliant touch and control to flick past a defender and win a corner.

Robbie Brady takes it short, and then booms the return aft-side. Horrendous.

I think it'd be fair to call this one a snoozefest. There's a certain lull that's swept over the fans here too.

Pinball in the West Brom box after a deep free-kick and there's Jonny Evans with a very graceful little diving header back to Ben Foster.

Yep. A Jonny Evans nod to his own keeper really is the highlight of the past 10 minutes.

This is better from Norwich. Bamford takes it under nicely to feed Mbokani, who knocks it on to Robbie Brady...

But the Republic of Ireland international shoots way over from outside the box. Probably the right decision to shoot but again, the quality is not quite there. Story of the match so far...

Here's a chance. Gary O'Neil intercepts just inside his own half and Norwich play it up to Dieumerci Mbokani, who for the first time I can remember finds strike partner Patrick Bamford.

Shot blocked on the edge of the box. We're yet to see one on target.

The brightest thing in this match is the shade of John Ruddy's horrendous pink socks. So far. I'm not a superstitious man but I really hope saying that makes something happen.

The Baggies should just get it up to their man in form - Salomon Rondon has five goals since the turn of the year. He and Saido Berahino have looked lively up top looking to run in behind.

Dieumerci Mbokani momentarily crumples in a heap on the halfway line. Gareth McAuley was kind of near him? Nothing in it. Mbokani is sheepish in getting up, hobbling off and coming back on.

  20. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Norwich

The home side win a corner, parried out awkwardly by John Ruddy and it falls to Claudio Yacob who strikes it on the edge!.. Fizzing but probably always high and wide.

Still, it's the closest we've come...
