Allan McGregor has been slightly the busier of the two goalkeepers so far this evening, keeping out efforts from his own defender Curtis Davies and Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri.

The Scot is aiming to stretch Hull's sequence of consecutive clean sheets to five in all competitions.

Hull are starting to get a little frustrated here.

They're giving away a number of niggly little free-kicks all over the pitch, but they're unlucky not to fashion a decent chance as the Owls make a mess of bringing the ball out of defence.

Fernando Forestieri has a shot from the free-kick and Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor tips over for a corner, from which ex-Tigers defender Michael Turner heads wide at the near post.

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal will be fairly pleased with how things have gone so far.

His side have largely stifled Hull going forward, and they have a free-kick 30 yards from goal as Michael Dawson brings down Fernando Forestieri...

Republic of Ireland assistant Roy Keane is at the KC Stadium tonight with former Hull City player and one-time record signing, Ian McParland. 

Hull midfielder David Meyler, Sheffield Wednesday's on-loan winger Aiden McGeady and Owls goalkeeper Keiren Westwood will all be hoping to be with Keane at this summer's European Championship.

Halfway through the first half and very little goalmouth action to speak of. One decent save by either goalkeeper apart, it's been a bit of a slow-burner.

Needs a spark, this one.

As well as our live Championship action, I'll be keeping an eye on tonight's League One game at Vale Park.

Phil Brown's Southend, who will go into the play-off places with a win, are currently 1-0 behind against Port Vale. Carl Dickinson has scored for the hosts.

A chance at the other end for Hull now, as Moses Odubajo puts in an excellent cross from the right and a powerful effort by Robert Snodgrass is kept out by Owls goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.

Westwood receives some treatment after that, not quite sure what for, but he's back on his feet now and ready to face a corner.

Barry Bannan's cross-shot from the left is diverted towards his own goal by the Hull defender and he's saved by his goalkeeper Allan McGregor, who keeps it at bay with his feet.

Sheffield Wednesday are up against the second-meanest defence in the Championship this evening.

Steve Bruce's Hull have conceded only two league goals in 2016.

A quiet start from both teams, who have given little away thus far. Hull earn the first corner of the match but Curtis Davies is penalised for a foul at the back post.

The Owls make five changes from their draw with QPR on Tuesday - Liam Palmer, Michael Turner, Joe Bennett, Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri all come in to the starting XI.

A few conflicting reports around about how Wednesday will line up.

This is my stab - although don't be surprised if it's wrong. Maybe Forestieri or Barry Bannan pulling out wide and Kieran Lee in a more central role? We'll soon find out...

Hull City were relegated from the Premier League last season and were strongly tipped for promotion right at the start of the campaign. Steve Bruce's side have delivered on that billing and lead the table with 14 games to play.

Not as many people would have expected Sheffield Wednesday to be in the mix at this stage. But with sizeable investment in the playing squad and some shrewd recruitment by head coach Carlos Carvalhal, the Owls have developed into genuine promotion contenders.
