    Watford 0-0 Aston Villa

We've seen this before - a rising Troy Deeney meets Jurado's corner but this time the Watford striker's luck is out - his header comes crashing back off the post.

    Watford 0-0 Aston Villa

Danger for Villa and it's all of their own making. Ciaran Clark gives the ball straight to Jurado, whose curling cross from the left wing doesn't quite hold up enough for Ighalo to connect. Goal kick Villa, but it perhaps should have been a lot worse.

Villa have got to watch out for Jurado out on the wing. A few of his runs have looked pretty dangerous already, likewise for the overlapping Watford left-back Ikechi Anya.

Watford looking good. They're up for this. Villa? Well presumably they're up for it too but we're yet to see it too much in evidence. Solid so far at the back, but they've barely got out of their half.

    Watford 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa fans still going strong as Watford enjoy pretty much all the early play. Jurado gets to the bye-line and his hanging cross is headed meekly towards goal by Troy Deeney, a bit crowded out.

Watford settling into a nice little groove of quick passing. Mario Suarez leans way back and shoots high and wide to shatter any comparison with that Argentina World Cup move though.

About 2.000 travelling Aston Villa fans have made the journey to Watford today and they're in pretty good voice as well.

Gallows humour from some of the travelling Villa fans at Vicarage Road.

"We fancied a change, we fancied a chaaaaange, just for one season, we fancied a change!" reads a banner in the away end.

A season-long holiday (at the very least) in the Champo awaits.

Here we go then, the players are on their way out of the tunnel.

"The sun's just come out!" says referee Anthony Taylor. He's not wrong, but I'll not bargain on it hanging around too long.

"Consider this scenario. Team A are 12th in the Premier League table and reached the FA Cup semi-final. Their place is assured in the top division for next season.

"Team B are relegated, have had as many managers as victories and are heading for the Championship after a dismal campaign.

"Now call Team A Aston Villa and Team B Watford. This is what, maybe unfairly, might have been expected back in August.

"Instead, in reality, Watford have been superb under Quique Sanchez Flores, while Villa are in disarray. But if Watford's owners decide to dispense with the popular Spanish manager, could they be Team B next year?"

"I am asking Aston Villa fans for forgiveness," said striker Gabby Agbonlahor in a statement this week.

The 29-year-old has stepped down as captain after he was pictured apparently partying immediately after their relegation from the Premier League earlier this month.

"This role was a huge honour to me and it hurts to have lost it," he added.

Agbonlahor won't be involved for Villa today at Watford, even though his suspension from the club has been lifted.

"Quique Sanchez Flores has done a brilliant job and he looks like an absolute film star.

"He has organised the team well, they concede few goals compared to the sides around them. They were a lot of people's favourites to go down at the start of the season, but he has kept them up, got them to a FA Cup semi-final. He has done a fantastic job but nothing would surprise me, look how many managers they had last season."

Flores is the fifth Watford manager in two years.

  15. 'I feel happiness around Watford'published at 14:41

Watford v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)

You'd like to think Watford fans would be fairly content with their season.

Like Bournemouth they have come up from the Championship and avoided going straight back down again, and they also reached the FA Cup last four.

Yet rumours are rife that manager Quique Flores could be on his way out at the end of the season.

The man himself addressed his future before Saturday's game with relegated Aston Villa: "I'm not going to justify the season. I have experience in football and I feel happiness around Watford. The way people read the season, it's impossible to say.

"What I understand is as a human being when you reach objectives, you want more. That is sometimes possible, sometimes it is not."

On the face of it neither of these teams have got much to play for today.

Aston Villa? Already down. They've made that bottom slot their own.

Watford? The home side are safe but suffered disappointment in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday with defeat by Crystal Palace.

The Hornets are 12th in the table, and by May could even end up climbing into the top ten if results go their way.

But will that be enough to keep manager Quique Sanchez Flores in a job?..
