"It will be interesting to see what happens if Partick can rattle Celtic's cage. They've been asked a few questions in recent weeks and haven't come up with many answers."

  13. Dundee Utd edging nearer the droppublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2016

Are Dundee United doomed after last night's 2-1 defeat at Motherwell?

The Terrors are eight points adrift of Kilmarnock at the foot of the Premiership with nine games to go but manager Mixu Paatelainen was defiant, telling BBC Scotland: "We've got plenty of opportunities and plenty of chances to close that gap and that's our aim."

Motherwell moved into the top half of the table, although boss Mark McGhee is still looking over his shoulder at the chasing pack.

"It puts three more points between us the team sitting second bottom," he said after his players came from behind to win at Fir Park.

    Talking to BBC Radio Scotland

"No games are easy and Partick are a good football team. We have good skills in the team and we need to build on the winning feeling from last weekend. Every good performance builds confidence."

  15. Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibaldpublished at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2016

    Talking to BBC Radio Scotland

"If we turn in a similar performance to the one against Aberdeen and are maybe more clinical, we could take something from the game. With the way the league is, everyone is scrapping for something and we need to be at it."

Thistle complete a sequence of matches against the Premiership's top three teams today following defeats to Aberdeen and Hearts.

Alan Archibald's side are very much in the mix for a top-six finish but a dip in form could yet see them sucked back towards the relegation play-off spot.

With Dedryck Boyata suspended and Jozo Simunovic injured, the versatile Charlie Mulgrew remains in central defence for Celtic. Stefan Johansen is missing after suffering an ankle problem in the Scottish Cup win over Morton as Nir Bitton returns to the midfield.

Partick are without injured duo Mustapha Dumbuya and Stuart Bannigan, while on-loan Aidan Nesbitt cannot play against his parent club. Kris Doolan is restored to the attack.

    Partick Thistle v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic have let Aberdeen back in with a sniff of a chance after back-to-back league draws but the visitors can take heart from a very healthy record against the Jags.

Since Thistle returned to the top flight, Celtic have won all nine encounters, with the Maryhill side failing to score in the last six meetings.

Oasis were dominating the pop charts the last time Thistle came out on top, in what Some Might Say was a shock 3-1 success at Celtic Park in May 1995.
