Arsenal

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta and fellow midfielder Tomas Rosicky will leave the Premier League club when their contracts expire this summer.

Arteta, 34, joined the club in 2011 and made 150 appearances, scoring 17 goals.

Rosicky, 35, signed in 2006 and was given an award for 246 appearances and 10 years of service before the Gunners' final-day win over Aston Villa.

Manager Arsene Wenger described the pair as "two exceptional players and influences in the dressing room".

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman: "A difficult game, Palace played well but we were very clinical. It was not our best game, but the belief and the fight till the last seconds brought the three points. 

"Last season was a very special one, but I don't know what I have to say about this season. 63 points and fifth in the table, it is incredible."

Koeman went on to tell BBC Sport's Simon Brotherton he was "very happy" at St Mary's, and that he will talk with the club's board next week about their ambitions saying "expectations for next season will be great."

Manchester City

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "One of the most difficult things to finish this season was after they announced this club will change [manager] next season, was the atmosphere inside the team.

"Of course it is not easy for a team when you are in that moment involved in all competitions, it is not easy for the players to read every day that ’11 players will go out, these are coming, these are finished’, that is why we are so proud of them, that they tried in the way they could, of course it is not easy to do it."

Palace boss Alan Pardew: "I thought our performance was good, actually. I think two shocking decisions gifted them two goals, I don't think its a penalty, contact outside, and I think it is a blatant push for the second goal. 

"We obviously protected a few (for the FA Cup final), but they (Southampton) are in good form and deserved to win. 

"The first priority was to get a result, we lost but the second was to come through unscathed. We have no injuries, and no-one sent off so we should be OK."

Who knew?

Grimsby Town have returned to the Football League after six years away after beating Forest Green Rovers 3-1 in the National League promotion final.

Nathan Arnold scored their third goal in injury time to seal the Wembley win.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini blames the club's announcement that he would be replaced by Pep Guardiola for his team's poor finish to the season.

Manchester City

Joe Hart, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is not what we set out to do at the start of the season but we will have to take it (fourth place).

"It was a strange day, getting the job done, barring a  mathematical freak, we have Champions League football next season.

"At the start of the season, well into this season we were well in the title race, but we let ourselves down, we will take positives of a trophy and semi-final of the Champions League, which was history for our club and we have Champions League next year and we have to take that.

"I have enjoyed our time under Manuel, it was important we finished off a good three years working with him."
