Almen Abdi goes close! Lovely build-up play from Watford as he latches on to an Ighalo flick, turns very smartly indeed and flashes a driven effort just wide of the post.

    Very close indeed. Inches.

Rees Greenwood's been with Sunderland since he was eight years old - here he is getting involved in a Premier League match for the first time as the away team build patiently.

Brilliant noise from the home fans so far as Troy Deeney then looks to set Igahlo away once Watford win it back, pass intercepted by O'Shea.

"I find it bizarre that Flores is on his way out after a year at the club. There is no recognition of the job he has done, just the belief someone else can do better - I am not convinced.

"I think the players like Flores, though, which is why I am backing Watford to win. Defeat would not be the end of the world for Sunderland."

    Prediction: 2-1

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce: "My idea is to play some younger players on Sunday.

"The under-21s have had a great year and I think that some of them need to play in the team to see if they can cope at this level when the pressure is off.

"That's not saying we will go there and lie down because I expect these lads to compete at this level and show why there may be a place for them in the squad in the future."

Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores: "I've had the opportunity to work in the Premier League and have been part of this amazing Watford team, so in this moment I feel free.

"This has been good for my experience and I'll take away the experience and things I have learned here.

"It's a long season in England and it's really, really good for a team who has just been promoted to get 44 points. They have finished in the position they deserve. My work is done."

"Expect tears at Vicarage Road as Quique Sanchez Flores waves goodbye to Watford fans. Let's be clear: Flores does not want to leave. The owners and board made the decision.

"Supporters are divided but the majority agree with the split. They are delighted to be playing Premier League football again next season thanks to Watford's form up to Christmas. As stupid as it sounds Flores may have done too well in the first five months of the season and expectation was cranked up. That coincided with a turn in form; results in the new year have been worrying and so has their defensive style of play.

"However Watford's worst performances have come in the last six weeks at the time Flores will have found out he was surplus to requirement. Team selection has been poor and the attitude of a number of the players can be called into question. However it is hard not to feel that the job he had done up to that point had been more than good enough. But football is all about the here and now. For a lot of Watford fans the damage has been done."

    Sanchez to leave Watford

    Watford

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores will leave the club after this afternoon's match.

The Spaniard, 51, was appointed in June 2015 following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

The Hornets are 13th in the Premier League, but have won just two of their past 11 top-flight games.

"The club and me don't have the same point of view about the season," said Sanchez, who also guided Watford to the FA Cup semi-finals.

    The teams are in already...

In his final game as Watford manager, Quique Sanchez Flores makes three changes from the side that lost 4-2 to Norwich on Wednesday. Sebastian Prodl, Nathan Ake and Adlene Guedioura replace Allan Nyom, Ikechi Anya and Mario Suarez.

Watford XI: Gomes, Cathcart, Prodl, Britos, Ake, Abdi, Guedioura, Watson, Jurado, Ighalo, Deeney. Subs: Nyom, Mario Suarez, Amrabat, Paredes, Pantilimon, Berghuis, Anya.

With Premier League safety secured, Sam Allardyce makes nine changes. The big news here is a start for keeper Jordan Pickford and senior debuts for Thomas Robson and Rees Greenwood, with top scorer Jermain Defoe on the bench.

Sunderland XI: Pickford, Yedlin, T Robson, O’Shea, Kone, Larsson, Rodwell, Lens, Watmore Greenwood, N'Doye.

"Quique Sanchez Flores will be able to walk away from Watford proud of his achievements.

"True, they have lost seven of their last 10 games amid a major dip in form, but Flores took them as high as seventh at one stage this season and, of the promoted clubs, they were safe first.

"It hasn't kept him in a job but should ensure he gets another one.

"Sunderland have been consistent in the sense that for three years they've flirted dangerously with the drop and then secured safety.

"After giving Sam Allardyce some sleepless nights over the winter, they found their feet this spring.

"One defeat in 10, a settled line-up and Jermain Defoe among the goals.

"Black Cats fans must be hoping they mix it up a bit more next season!"

The last day of the season, another Premier League campaign to look forward to next August, and the sun's even shining.

There's definitely a party mood around Vicarage Road today. But you'd be forgiven for being surprised to learn it's a farewell party for manager Quique Sanchez Flores. Despite leading the club to the FA Cup semi-finals and securing their top-flight status, he'll be leaving the club.
