Hibs are building up a head of steam here as Anthony Stokes and Liam Henderson combine well, with the latter leaving a nice dummy for his team-mate then running onto a first time pass inside the United box but he's squeezed out by a defender in tangerine.

Hibs skipper David Gray does very well to gather a long, diagonal pass and angles a fabulous delivery into the danger zone. Jason Cummings throws himself at it but can't get there.

More nice play from Hibs in and around the United penalty box but again the final ball is not quite on the money and the Tannadice side hold firm.

John McGinn slips a pass through to Lewis Stevenson and the Hibs full-back thrusts into the penalty box only to see his low cross cut out by a stretching defender as Liam Henderson waits to apply a touch.

The second half is up and running. A few goals, please.

The selection of Conrad Logan may have surprised a few Hibs fans and there may have been a few gasps when they saw the sheer size of the goalkeeper.

He may look like a prop forward but he's kept his team in it with two impressive blocks.

Hibs have enjoyed the lion's share of possession but United keeper Eiji Kawashima hasn't had a save to make. He was able to watch the poorly executed lofted penalty from Jason Cummings and maybe have a wee chuckle as it sailed over his crossbar.

United have barely strung two passes together but Billy McKay has been one-on-one with Conrad Logan twice and was denied by the debutant keeper on both occasions.

What does Hibs manager Alan Stubbs say to Jason Cummings in the dressing room? The penalty miss is the big talking point from a rather poor first half at Hampden.

Confusion in the Hibs defence as Paul Hanlon and Conrad Logan leave a harmless looking ball over the top for each other, allowing Billy McKay to nip in again but the goalie is off his line quickly and blocks once more.

Blair Spittal gets to the byline and cuts the ball into the six yard box but Conrad Logan is alive to the situation and the Hibs keeper gets down smartly to smother the danger at his near post.

United look a bit more settled at the back now. Has that change in personnel worked or are Hibs deflated after that penalty miss?

United make a defensive change as Callum Morris trudges off to be replaced by Paul Dixon. Morris is a central defender and did not look at all comfortable at left-back.

Hibs striker Anthony Stokes has been pretty quiet so far but he swivels his hips nicely there to turn neatly and smashes a powerful shot narrowly over the top from 22 yards.

Now back to that penalty. Fine if you're 3-0 and cruising but surely Jason Cummings should be putting the laces through that and making sure Hibs take the lead after a dominant first half hour.

It's been a rough few minutes on Coll Donaldson. He gave away the penalty cutting out Fraser Fyvie's cross with his arm in an awkward position and now he's been booked for winning a clean header.

Astonishing! Jason Cummings goes for the Panenka-style dink and makes a terrible mess of it, scooping it well over the top.
