  2. 'Going to be tough'published at 15:28

    BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner

“Celtic didn’t perform in that first half. That first goal was crucial, and Celtic were always chasing it.

“Young Kieran Tierney was one of the best players but they rest of them didn’t really perform, until Rogic came on.

“I thought Ronny Deila did a good job at half-time. He really got them to come out and put Rangers to the sword early in the second half, and again he got them going in extra-time.  So he deserves a bit of credit.

“It is going to tough for him because the media will  apply a lot of pressure on him.

“It is hugely disappointing for Celtic. They should have enough in that team to go and perform better than that in the first half and take the game to Rangers.

“They still have the league to look forward to but it is going to be a tough four or five days for them.”

“’Delighted’ was the watchword for Warburton. His answers were measured, he’s not getting carried away.

“He said the better side won the day no doubt that that, but the gap still exists between Rangers and Celtic.

“This is not a gauge for next season just yet. They have to add to the squad.

“He was asked about the possibility of playing European football, and said: ‘Of course, if we were to win the final, that would impact on the recruitment process, and we would need another one or two players.”

"I'm very disappointed of course. We were too passive in our pressure but started well in the second half.

"We need to be safer on the ball and want to play the ball more. It was a hard game and we now have to fight for the league, with five games left. Then we look after that. In football, you never know..."

Rangers have done us a favour... Celtic will now need to get rid of Deila. We have suffered enough.

If Ronnie thinks Celtic are the best team in Scotland. It's a great shame he is NOT the best manager. It's been an long embarrassing season for Celtic supporters, Europe, League Cup, Scottish Cup, the league has been a struggle and is not over yet.

  9. 'It lived up to the hype'published at 14:53

    Tom English
    BBC Sport Scotland at Hampden

"An incredible semi-final. It lived up to the hype. Rangers showed huge character.

"They stepped up to the plate big-time. They were missing players through injuries and suspension, but they went toe-to-toe with the champions of Scotland and they have beaten them in a penalty shoot-out.

“This is a big, big day for Rangers. It marks the end of the journey back. They have now beaten Celtic, whereas a year ago they weren’t within kicking distance of Celtic.

"There were some big performances. I thought Barrie McKay was absolutely outstanding, even before his goal.”

While Rangers players were ecstatic at winning the penalty shoot-out, Celtic full back Kieran Tierney put a consoling arm around the shoulder of crestfallen Tom Rogic who ballooned his spot-kick over the bar.
