  1. 'Sweden and Wales quite similar'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 5 June 2016

Former Sweden international Hakan Mild: "Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a world-class player, so of course he is very important. Wales and Sweden are similar in that respect; if their star player can play well and other players perform in their support, it can be interesting to see.

"It will of course be a tough game today, and Wales are quite physical, but I believe this Swedish team will win."

  2. 'No injuries please'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 5 June 2016

    Sweden v Wales (15:00 BST)

    John Hartson
Ex-Arsenal & Wales striker in Stockholm for BBC Radio Wales

"Above all Wales don't want any injury issues today, with their opening game at the Euros in six days' time. Chris [Coleman] will give a lot of players time on the pitch, but I think he knows his starting XI for the Slovakia game.

"It is an international football match, it's obviously meaningful, but being so close to the start of a first major finals in 58 years, I wouldn't expect too many risks."

There is no place in the Sweden side for Albin Ekdal today, and the midfielder has quite a novel reason to be missing from the starting line-up.

The Hamburg player is on the bench as he recovers from a cut to his back his sustained in May by stumbling at a nightclub and falling on to the corner of a glass table.

According to reports, he was not drunk at the time and faced no disciplinary action from his club. As notes of absence go, this is a pretty good one.

In contrast to many of their Euro 2016 rivals, this is Wales' only warm-up match for the tournament in France (England have played three).

It is not the first time Chris Coleman has opted for such an approach. Wales decided against a friendly ahead of their qualifying clash with Belgium but ended up sealing a memorable win against the highest-ranked side at Euro 2016.

Coleman clearly feels his side are best when fresh.

    John Hartson
Ex-Arsenal & Wales striker in Stockholm for BBC Radio Wales

"There is a slight worry about goals. Wales do depend on Gareth Bale a lot, but Aaron Ramsey is capable, Andy King has chipped in with a couple in the past, and there's set-pieces. We know Ashley Williams is strong in the air, so is James Chester, and James Collins.

"Right now nobody's complaining though because Gareth keeps coming up trumps for us."

Zlatan will start this afternoon's game, setting up the mouth-watering prospect of a top dog, two-man over the top battle royale between the 34-year-old Swede and Bale later in the game. It will be like the Mega Powers explode at Wrestlemania V.

Ibrahimovic is currently without a club, having left Paris St-Germain, for whom he scored 50 goals last season. Word on the street is that Premier League fans could well be seeing a lot more of him next season with a move to Manchester United in the offing.

For the uninitiated, here is a taste of what Zlatan can do.

Friendly matches by their nature tend not to be the most intense affairs, though Wales’ match in Sweden at least has a stellar headline act: Gareth Bale v Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Neither side wants to be labelled a one-man team, though both will freely admit their hopes at Euro 2016 will rest more heavily on these two players than any others.

Having played the full 120 minutes in Real Madrid’s Champions League final win against Atletico last Saturday, Wales talisman Bale will play only 30 or 45 minutes according to manager Chris Coleman

But Sweden’s colourful captain Ibrahimovic, who is being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, will start at the Friends Arena in Stockholm.

If Chris Coleman was concerned that Sweden would go into this eager to protect their players ahead of Euro 2016, he needn't have been.

    Sweden v Wales (15:00 BST)

Chris Coleman has already said he is not prepared to risk any of the players in his squad currently suffering with injuries.

Hal Robson-Kanu (leg) Joe Allen (knee) and Joe Ledley, who broke his leg on 7 May, will all be left out in Sweden.

However, Coleman believes the trio could all be available to play in Wales' first match in France.

"Neither Hal nor Joe Allen will be risked, neither will Joe Ledley," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"But, all three are doing very well and it has been a good two weeks for them.

"Joe Ledley is a contender for Slovakia if he keeps progressing. We have given him every opportunity to be fit and a part of it.

"At the moment he looks very, very good."

  15. Bale is backpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 5 June 2016

    Sweden v Wales (15:00 BST)

    Guess who's back, back again...

Gareth Bale hasn't appeared for Wales since scoring in the 2-0 win over Andorra amid a party atmosphere in Cardiff. But Chris Coleman has confirmed that his star player will feature this afternoon.

The forward seemed to struggle with cramp as he played the full 120 minutes of Real Madrid's Champions League final win against Atletico Madrid.

But he has been training with Wales as they prepare for their Euro 2016 opener against Slovakia on 11 June.

"He won't be getting 90 minutes. He may get 30, he may get 45," said Coleman.

The big news for Wales is that Gareth Bale is on the bench. He is expected to play around "30 or 45 minutes" according to Chris Coleman. It is expected that Wales will line-up in a 5-3-1-1 formation.

Wales XI: Hennessey; Gunter, Chester, A Williams, Davies, Taylor; Vaughan, King, Ramsey; J Williams; Vokes.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts for Sweden, who also have former Arsenal midfielder Kim Kallstrom and Sunderland's Seb Larsson in their side.

Sweden XI: Isaksson; Lustig, Johansson, Granqvist, Olsson; Larsson, Kallstrom, Lewicki, Forsberg; Berg, Ibrahimovic.
