Just managed to squeeze that reaction in from Robbie Neilson. Join us for Aberdeen's tie tomorrow night.

  2. Robbie Neilsonpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Hearts head coach on BBC Radio Scotland

"We knew that we could get at them if we put crosses into the box.

The work-rate was fantastic, yet we are still in the middle of pre-season.

"Jack Hamilton has stitches in his head and will struggle for next week.

"I thought it was a terrible challenge on him.

"Birkirkara have some good players and gave West Ham a tough time last year, so it will be a difficult tie for us."

  3. Wednesday call for Donspublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Next up, though, are Aberdeen tomorrow evening. With the Dons leading 3-1 from the first leg in Scotland, Derek McInnes' side are favourites to go through to the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Join us for live coverage to see if that is how it pans out.

  4. Celtic for Gibraltar?published at 18:50 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Lincoln Red Imps still lead Flora Tallinn 1-0 at half time, so they are going through on away goals if it stays that way and Celtic could be heading for Gibraltar next week in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

It is an excellent piece of work for Robbie Neilson's men. A wonderful result and they go marching on to Malta next week. I worry a wee bit about Jamie Walker as he's still limping, but he was magnificent

I thought Liam Smith did really well at left-back and Jamie Walker, on his game, is as good as anyone in Scotland and his deliveries were magnificent. It is a great result away from home in Europe

  7. Malta teaserpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Hearts are away in the first leg of the second qualifying round next Thursday, when they travel to Malta to face Birkirkara. Malta is a wee island, but the same team gave West Ham United a tough time last season and only went out on penalties to the English Premier League side.

  9. No Niall McGinnpublished at 18:35 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Aberdeen have travelled to Luxembourg without Northern Ireland international Niall McGinn, who has been given a week off after his Euro 2016 exploits with Northern Ireland.

McGinn scored in the 3-1 Europa League first leg win over Fola Esch and Dons manager Derek McInnes must be fairly confident of their progress.

Jack Hamilton takes a goal kick with his head heavily bandaged, while Ofosu Appiah carries on after a tongue lashing from Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson, who is obviously unhappy with the Ghanaian's challenge on the goalkeeper.

Lincoln Red Imps FC 1 - 0 Flora (Chipolina)

Joseph Chipolina scores a penalty after 15 minutes to give the home side the lead and level the tie at 2-2 on aggregate. Flora at the moment are still set to face Celtic in the next round on the away goals rule if the score stays the same.

A stretcher is being called for. It looks like Infonet's Ofosu Appiah is the man being taken from the field. Hearts goalkeeper Jack Hamilton is having his head bandaged.

"It is right to take Jamie Walker off and wrap him up for next week. He's had a couple of heavy challenges. He's been sensational, he's been the best player on the park. He has been involved in all four goals."

Jamie Walker has been excellent for Hearts, but the forward is given a rest with the tie well won, being replaced with Sam Nicholson.

  20. Murray maniapublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Not so good news for Scottish interest at Wimbledon, Jamie Murray and partner Bruno Soares being knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the doubles, going down 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 10-8 to Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

However, wee brother Andy has just taken the first set of his singles quarter-final against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, although it was a bit of a struggle before the Dunblane lad came through after a tie break.
