Victor Wanyama's first goal for Tottenham gave them all three points against Crystal Palace.

The Kenyan midfielder headed home from a corner with eight minutes to go.

Spurs had the better of the chances in a tight game with Vincent Janssen shooting wide after being played through by sub Dele Alli.

Palace's best chance fell to Yohan Cabaye but the Frenchman blasted over from 12 yards. Alan Pardew's side have now lost their opening two games.

    Victor Wanyama

Never make substitutions when defending a corner, eh?

Harry Kane heads the ball back into the middle of the six-yard box and Victor Wanyama directs it beyond Wayne Hennessey for his first Spurs goal.

Palace centre-half Damien Delany is getting some treatment after a collision at the near post.

Delaney had bravely cleared Danny Rose's cross for a corner.

Spurs are having plenty of possession but they're struggling to really get Palace out of position at the moment.

Alan Pardew will be happy with how his team have stuck to their tasks today.

Palace winger Andros Townsend sends a free-kick from wide on the right straight out of play.

His defensive colleagues who'd made the foray forward will not thank him for that kind of delivery.

  15. Spurs 0-0 Crystal Palacepublished at 69 mins

Vincent Janssen has been really impressive today but he should have a goal.

Dele Alli's first act is to send the Dutchman in on goal but he gets his attempted placed finish all wrong and sends it about 10 yards wide.

    Should have scored.

I said Dele Alli was going through his warm up and now he comes on for Christian Eriksen.

I said I expected him to come on for Victor Wanyama or Eric Dier but we can gloss over that.

Palace skipper Scott Dann is in the book for pulling Vincent Janssen.

The game is really starting to open up now.

Palace winger Andros Townsend has probably had more of the ball in the last four minutes than he'd had in the previous hour.

    Great chance for Palace!
