More football being played this half and it's Chelsea who are popping it around a lot more.

They are in control and Stoke are now falling off the pace. Not a lot happening here.

Good start by Stoke this half already.

I just hope both teams concentrate on the game rather than trying to get each other booked.

I just want to see a good half of football now.

    It's a pretty even game.

They both want to win the physical side of it but are forgetting to score goals and win football. Stoke have been putting everything they have into the box. They're putting Chelsea under pressure.

  4. 'We're in a unique situation'published at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    West Brom 3-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger speaking to Match of the Day:  "It was a typical Premier League game. A team that likes to play and a team that defends well.

"It was a tough performance. They caught us on set pieces and one break and that made the difference.

"Overall our record against set pieces is quite good. We were a bit naïve, maybe, on the corners. Then we were punished. It’s a shame. We looked in the second half to take completely over.

"We didn’t create enough. We lost Alexis Sanchez in the second half, he was very dangerous in the first. He came out in the second half and he couldn’t move any more. In the first half he was a guy who created a lot.

"It leaves us in a unique situation that we’ve never had before. We face big problems to regroup and find resources to sort out the problem. We need some togetherness.

"We face some serious challenges. The City game at home is a big game for us."

Scott Costa’s technical ability as a player is great, but his attitude and behaviour on the pitch is staggeringly awful.

David Simpson: If I were a Chelsea fan, I'd say to him what I tell my U9 team. "Stay on your feet, you can't help us on the floor!"

Jon Connor: Stoke's game plan - Kick Chelsea off the park it seems!

Phil Bardsley has kicked Diego Costa right on the outside of the knee and taken the Chelsea striker down.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has set his team out to do a specific thing...and it is working.

We are coming up now to half-time and the manager has got to have a word with Costa because he is going to be a shown another yellow soon...

It's a great atmosphere here - the Stoke fans are truly pumped up!

Everything is revolving around Diego Costa today. He is very much the pantomime villain.

There is a slight nudge in the back of Jon Walters and Gary Cahill also stands on his ankle I think.

    No doubt of the penalty.

    Stoke City 0-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle

You've got to say Stoke are second best in all areas of the park and they really have been giving the ball away so cheaply, but Chelsea are full of confidence and can look after it when it's theirs.

Having said that, Diego Costa is going to get himself a red card if he keeps going this way.

I've just seen a replay of that dive from Diego Costa and it is absolutely ridiculous - it warranted that yellow card on its own.

He is trying to unsettle anyone in a red and white shirt but he has to concentrate on his football because at the moment he is not helping his team-mates.

Unfortunately it was a promising start by Stoke.

The other teams who are 10 points behind Chelsea pretty much have to win every game to challenge them for the title - even if Conte's team drop a few points.

I can't see how anyone can catch Chelsea.

  19. 'Title-winning statistics'published at 11:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke v Chelsea (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

Stoke have won this fixture in two of the last three seasons, but despite frustrating Manchester City last time out, they will have to go to another level against the current league leaders.

Chelsea's consistency is there to be admired by everyone. Eighteen wins and just one defeat from the last 21 Premier League games tells its own impressive story.

Quite simply, they are title-winning statistics. However, Antonio Conte will not allow his team to take their foot off the pedal as he eyes a repeat of Carlo Ancelotti's league and cup double.

Mark Hughes' team have only lost twice in their last nine league games and will hope that the Chelsea machine isn't quite as well oiled as it has been for the majority of this season.
