Arsenal gave AC Milan a fright almost five years ago to the day here at the Emirates when they went 3-0 up trying to claw back a 4-0 first leg deficit - but this sort of excitement looks well beyond this current side.

Bayern Munich could almost be said to have let Arsenal off the hook by only beating them 5-1 in the first leg at the Allianz Arena.

With Arsenal's top four place in the Premier League under threat, could this be their last appearance in the Champions League for some time?
