Chelsea striker Diego Costa may or may not be heading to China to earn £30m a year, but he is not in their squad and did not travel to the King Power Stadium.

Eden Hazard will lead the Blues attack instead, just as he did when Costa was suspended for their Boxing Day win over Bournemouth.

Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi, a £33m summer signing from Marseille, is on the bench and must wait longer for his first league start.

  8. Swans' shots are all from distancepublished at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

Swansea have had their moments in this game but, other than that penalty shout, not many of them have come in the Arsenal area - they only managed a total four touches in there in the first 45 minutes.

All five of the Swans' shots have come from outside the box and, tellingly, none of them have come from their main striker Fernando Llorente.

Only one of those five efforts have been on target, too. Kyle Naughton's low drive that almost sneaked past Petr Cech, shown by the green arrow above. The red arrows are off target, the yellow circle is an effort that was blocked.

So, signs of improvement from the Swans - but much more needed.

    Mark Lawrenson

Does Olivier Giroud get in their best XI this season? No. Does he come off the bench and change the game in a completely different way? Yes.

  10. 'A different tool in the box'published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Swansea v Arsenal (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Football Focus

Olivier Giroud has battled back really well. He is a different tool in the box, he scores late goals. You look at Europe and ask how many better players there are. There are now a collection of players who have signed new contracts at Arsenal, Giroud is an important player for them.

Will Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez sign? I think one will, not both. Sanchez gets the support he didn’t get at Barcelona. What happens with Ozil I am not sure.

And there's not been a manager of the month 'curse' in sight. Yet.

"He is strong, quick and doesn’t stop running. He sets the tone for all the other Chelsea players. It’s frightening the way the Chinese market is acting right now."

    Costa to China?

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on 5 live

When these situations arise the players are probably thinking they’ll go and do two years and then come back and play in the Premier League. Financially, they’re not just supporting their immediate family, they are supporting their whole family…aunts, uncles and cousins.

I’d still give Chelsea a good chance [of winning title] if they lost him. With the lead they now have I think they can cope without Costa if they spend the money and replace him.

Everything has been smooth sailing for Chelsea up to now. Imagine the faces of Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino. This is what they have been waiting for. Another bid from the Chinese market seems to be rocking the boat of another top club. It’s a huge problem.
