Santi Cazorla scored from the spot and Aaron Ramsey volleyed in from a corner soon after to give the London side hope. But Calum Chambers was sent off after a second yellow late on as Stoke held on.

    Arsenal lead and that was the result of them building up real momentum  before Kevin Wimmer's own goal - a nightmare for the defender as he had to go for Mesut Ozil's free-kick and that was always the danger.

    Spurs started with real energy but have flattened out as the half has gone on while Arsenal grew strongly into the game.

    It was a goal that had been coming and Spurs could not hold out.
