Barry Magee: All national flags are forms of political expression. UEFA just can't pick chose which ones are, and which ones aren't. They don't have a right to.

Robert McCluskie: How many times can fans keep letting a club down?

  14. Uefa sets date for Celtic banner hearingpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 19 August 2016

Uefa has opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic for "illicit banners" being displayed by their fans during Wednesday's Champions League play-off home leg against the Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva.

The organisation's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on 22 September.

Uefa must now have quite a hefty file on the indiscretions of some Celtic supporters.

  18. Brown retirement 'a blow'published at 15:37 British Summer Time 19 August 2016

    Rhona McLeod
    BBC Sport Scotland

"The former Scotland manager Craig Brown says for the sake of the nation it's a bit early for Scott Brown to retire from international football.

"From the Scotland fans' point of view Brown says he believes it's a disappointing decision as 'we are bit short of experienced players - players who played at the highest European level to the standard that Scott has'.

"He added the decision will also be disappointing to Brown's fellow international players and that it will be a 'blow' to Gordon Strachan."

  19. Foster heads for the Fair Citypublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 19 August 2016

Now, we promised you more on Richard Foster's move from Dingwall to Perth...

St Johnstone have signed the former Aberdeen and Rangers full-back until the end of the season.

The former Aberdeen and Rangers full-back was part of the side that beat Hibernian in the League Cup final to deliver County's first major trophy.

No fee was involved in the transfer for the 31-year-old, with Foster becoming Saints' fifth new arrival this summer.

He follows midfielders Paul Paton, Blair Alston and Michael Coulson, and fellow defender Keith Watson in joining the Perth outfit, who have finished fourth for the past two seasons.

"I am really happy to have made the move," Foster told BBC Scotland. "St Johnstone is a club that every club outside the top four look at as what they want to be.

"With Rangers out of the top division they've been in the top four and consistently in the top six. They've also won the Scottish Cup recently so it was an easy decision to make."

  20. Killie sign two players on loanpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 19 August 2016

    Clive Lindsay
BBC Scotland Sport at Rugby Park

"Lee Clark has added two more loan signings from English football to his Kilmarnock squad - and both could make their debuts against Ross County in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

"The Kilmarnock boss hopes to complete paperwork on a six-month loan deal for English midfielder Charlee Adams from Birmingham City.

"And fellow 21-year old Luke Hendrie, a right-back who has previously been called up to the Scotland Under-21 squad after playing youth football for England, has arrived from Burnley.

"The son of Scottish-born former Bradford City and Middlesbrough forward John Hendrie ended last season on loan to Jackie McNamara's York City.

"Hendrie becomes the second arrival from the English Premiership newcomers, following the loan signing of midfielder George Green last week."
