Can Hull find a way back?

Only one real moment of quality in that half and that was from the left boot of Xherdan Shaqiri. His 26th-minute strike separates the sides.

Stoke have been better and Hull have Michael Dawson to thank for some crucial tackles.

One minute of added time in the first half.

Joe Allen finds Xherdan Shaqiri who feeds Wilfried Bony, he thinks he can open his Stoke account but Michael Dawson has other ideas with a wonderful tackle.

Shaqiri then overcooks the corner, again.  

And that's half-time.

Marko Arnautovic,sporting a David Beckham-eque mohawk circa 2002, goes on a dangerous run but loses control in the box. The Austrian is looking dangerous today.

It's better by Robert Snodgrass but is punched away firmly by Lee Grant.

Ryan Mason plays the ball back into the Stoke box but again Grant is all over it.

Ryan Shawcross concedes a corner. Hull's third of the game.

Can Hull fashion anything here? No.

Lovely run down the left wing from Sam Clucas but he can't get a decent ball into the box and Stoke clear.

They are now just passing it around midfield with ease, not much pressure from the home side.

Each of Xherdan Shaqiri's last three Premier League goals have come from outside the box. 

It was also his first goal since the opening day of the season.

The assist for the Xherdan Shaqiri goal was by Ryan Shawcross. I say assist, he just passed it to the midfielder who did the rest all by himself.

Marko Arnautovic almost makes it 2-0, he controls a wonderful pass from Xherdan Shaqiri and as he sets to pull the trigger, David Marshall is quickly off his line. 

As it stands Hull have now dropped into the bottom three.

First real for Hull as Ryan Mason beast two Stoke players on the right wing and whips in a wonderful cross for Will Keane, but the former Manchester United striker heads wide.

At the other end, Michael Dawson puts in a wonderful tackle to stop Xherdan Shaqiri.

20 minutes gone and just one shot a piece, but no real proper chances to speak off. Bit dull this.

Hull at the moment, are doing a good job keeping Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri quiet.

Just had another look at that Ryan Shawcross 'handball' appeal.

The defender's arms are up by his chest, but tucked in, it certainly didn't look deliberate and referee Kevin Friend was not interested anway.

Erik Pieters is down after an important tackle on David Meyler, but is soon back on his feet.

Hull then force a corner off Geoff Cameron.

First real opportunity for the Tigers. Robert Snodgrass puts the ball in, it ricochets in the box and Will Keane turns and shoots but his shot is blocked by Ryan Shawcross.

Lots of appeals for handball but that would have been harsh on the Stoke captain.

Lovely play by Xherdan Shaqiri who chips the ball into the path of Joe Allen but the Welsh international fails to get a touch on it. Close to an opener there.
