  5. Gladbach to make life 'difficult' for Celticpublished at 19:16

German journalist Gunter Koch on Sportsound

"Everybody says Gladbach is one of the favourites for the runner-up position after Bayern Munich and Dortmund. It's a good team and they have money. I'd say for Gladbach, this is going to be a good chance to possibly make it very, very difficult for Celtic."

  10. Celtic's 'big hope'published at 18:54

    Tom English
    BBC Sport Scotland

"Borussia Monchengladbach were in Man City's group last season as well - along with Juventus and Sevilla. They finished bottom but beat Sevilla 4-2 and got two draws against Juventus. They also beat and drew with Bayern in the Bundesliga last season.

"Since then, though, they have lost two big players. Granit Xhaka has joined Arsenal for £35m and Harvard Nordvelt has gone to West Ham. It's hard to see where Celtic are going to get some joy in this extraordinary group, but Monchengladbach will be their big hope."

"It could've been easier," he has told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound. "There's some real glamour ties in there. Really great nights ahead at Celtic Park.

"City, we’ve got a great relationship with. Great nights ahead.

"It couldn't be any more difficult but [Brendan Rodgers] has got off to a great start. It's been a fantastic start. We'll have an attempt to get one more in [a player] before next Wednesday [transfer deadline]."

Can he reveal the position Celtic will attempt to strengthen? "No."
