    Wales 1-0 Georgia

The Wales band inside the stadium is trying to gee up the crowd with a rendition of the Rocky theme tune.

On the pitch, midfielder Dave Edwards gets into the box and on the end of Neil Taylor's cross, but the Wolves man scoops his shot over the crossbar.

Wales needed a certain someone else there.

Gareth Bale never seems to play badly for Wales.

It just inspires the other players, when someone is that consistent it is fantastic.

Here we go then. Georgia get us up and running at Cardiff City Stadium.

  4. Postpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 9 October 2016

    Wales 1-0 Georgia

The Georgia players have been sent out onto the pitch early, but no sign of Wales yet. They probably haven't finished their tea and biscuits yet.

Wales were not under the cosh in the first half, but there were a couple of moments of concern. Another goal will wrap this game up though.

Richard: Good first 15. Frustrating from then on. #Wales too slow and allowing Georgia the ball. Need to improve second half.

Wales did well to take the lead. It settled everyone down but Georgia have got back into it with some good play.

It has not been as comfortable as Wales would like but when they go forward they look dangerous and look as though they could score every time.

Deary me, Georgia's Murtaz Daushvili is into the referee's book. He comes sliding across to chop down Chris Gunter on the right. The most obvious booking you will ever see. No damage done to the Reading man through.

Luke: Wales should have had this in the bag by now. Bale for all his quality needs to pass! King shot because he feels left out!

  12. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Wales 1-0 Georgia

Wales like a long throw into the box. It's Gareth Bale who is on duty for them.

The Real Madrid man lobs one onto the head of Sam Vokes, but the Burnley man's header is weak and drifts off target.

Wales have been excellent in possession but not so good out of possession.

They cannot let Georgia have too much of the ball and get their tails up.

    Wales 1-0 Georgia

Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Loria - who sports a beard of his own - has made a meal of this.

Wales midfielder Andy King's low strike from around 30-yards out is easy for him to gather, but the ball takes a bounce just in front of him and Loria flaps it away for a corner.

From Joe Ledley's set-piece, Loria is fouled and Georgia escape another Wales attack.

    Wales 1-0 Georgia

There are some cracking beards on show today - from both sides - but Joe Ledley is winning on that count. You have to appreciate the lovely bit of growth from the Crystal Palace man.

Got to love Gareth Bale's dancing feet. He jinks and jives his way round four Georgia defenders who barely come close to him, but Bale's chipped ball into the area isn't great as goalkeeper Giorgi Loria sprints off his line to collect.

Joe Ledley's corner is floated too high and Ashley Williams cannot get his head on the end of it.

A poor delivery from the Crystal Palace man.

Wales, though, are dangerous when they get to the other end and earn a corner. It sees defenders Ashley Williams and James Chester make their way up the pitch...

You have to give Georgia credit. The way they have responded to going a goal behind has been very positive. They have kept the ball and had more possession.

Wales need a second goal. While it is 1-0 the opposition will always feel they are in the game.

Kosovo, who gained Fifa membership just a few months ago, are behind in their game against Ukraine. Artem Kravets gets the goal, with the help of a deflection.

The game is being played at Poland's Jozef Pilsudski Stadium, and there's just a couple of hundred fans in attendance.
