It's been a good day for St Johnstone, who move up to third in the Premiership and Queen of the South deserve great credit for taking over at the top of the Championship.

  4. Sunday's top flight gamespublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Celtic can extend their lead at the top of the Premiership pile when they visit Inverness Caley Thistle tomorrow.

Brendan Rodgers' side must recover from their Champions League mauling in Barcelona as they look to maintain their 100% league record.

The Highlanders opened with three defeats but have picked up recently, taking four points from St Johnstone and Aberdeen.

Before that there is a high noon showdown at Dens Park, with Aberdeen visiting Dundee.

Paul Hartley's side were draw specialists last season and have taken a point in each of their last three outings.

Aberdeen got off to a flier with eight straight wins last time but have picked up just one victory from five so far.

We'll do this live text dance again for those fixtures and BBC Radio Scotland will be covering both matches.

  5. Lennon hits out at Bartley red cardpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Neil Lennon is not happy after Hibernian's winning run came to an end at home to Ayr United. The hosts were cruising at 1-0 before Marvin Bartley was sent off.

"The red card has changed the game," the Hibees manager told BBC Scotland. "It's not a red card.

"Marvin has gone in with one foot and he is low. He might have caught the kid but there was a lot of other stuff going on out there, the way the referee was letting the game go.

"I can't be over critical of the players. Indeed I feel for them a bit with the refereeing performance but we have to accept it and get on.

"There have been instances in games this year when we haven't been good enough in front of goal but we had plenty of chances to go two up and should have seen the game out."

Ayr United gaffer Ian McCall: "For us to win against the overwhelming favourites for the league is a terrific result."

"Everyone is equal in this dressing room and they all work so hard for each other," says St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright.

"I've got two number one keepers at the club and that's a manager's dream. I don't think there's a better young keeper in the country than Zander Clark.

"Gordon Strachan was here today and I think he's certainly someone who deserves to be near the Scotland squad."

The Saints boss also said that his two players booked for simulation [Graham Cummins & Chris Kane] will be fined if he agrees with the referee after watching match footage.

    FT: St Johnstone 1-0 Hearts

"That's the way it goes sometimes - we played some fantastic football then got hit by a sucker punch," Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson tells Sportsound.

"The St Johnstone goalkeeper has had the game of his life and they had one shot on goal. We can't be too despondent about it.
