In the midst of it all, I have to say the two players who have made the best impression so far have been Adam Forshaw and Adam Clayton.

They have faced everything this Chelsea side have been throwing at them.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea cranking up the pressure and getting closer to opening the scoring.

Eden Hazard plays a beautiful ball through to Pedro, whose rocket of a shot is blocked by two Boro defenders.

Seconds later, Marcos Alonso smashes a low shot at the front post which Victor Valdes does well to push away.

David Luiz comes through the back of Boro striker Alvaro Negredo, but the referee says play on.

Negredo is not happy and remonstrates with Jon Moss, but he may want to take a step back to avoid a booking.

New FA regulations and all that.

Up until this point I would say that Middlesbrough have slightly been shading it but Chelsea are now starting to step it up.

Chelsea growing into this game now and Victor Moses is seeing a lot of the ball on the right. He feeds the ball into Diego Costa on the edge of the box, who in turn plays Pedro through, but the Spaniard's cutback is very poor and Victor Valdes can throw his cap on it.

Chelsea have enjoyed over 68% possession in the last 15 minutes, spending almost a third of that time deep in Boro territory

Antonio Conte obviously doesn't feel the cold - he is still just wearing a suit - no coat.

Having said that, he does move about a lot and I like it!

It's not meant to intimidate the opposition's manager. It's inspirational for his players to see that much passion.

    What

    A

    Save.

Victor Moses runs clear down the right after being put in by Eden Hazard and pulls the ball back to Pedro inside the area.

The Spaniard thinks he has put his side 1-0 ahead with a strike towards the roof of the net, but Victor Valdes dives full stretch to right to tip the ball over.

    A stunning stop.

Not too much goalmouth action to speak of, but both sets of players are really getting stuck in in the middle of the park.

    Feisty football.

    Shocking.

Boro goalkeeper Victor Valdes sprints out and gets a clearance wrong, straight to the feet of Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso.

The Spaniard attempts a first time, left-footed shot, one that loops into an open net, but gets it badly wrong and scuffs it towards the corner flag.

It's nearer the stick than the goal. Honest! Look at our graphic...

As you can see from the graphic below, Victor Moses' shot a few moments ago was Chelsea's first touch in the Boro box.

Chelsea's touch map is on the right, while Boro's (on the left, obviously) shows they have only had one touch in the opposing area too.

That was Alvaro Negredo's shank earlier.

The passing from Chelsea has not been great has it?

How long did Diego Costa have to play that pass out wide?

He waited and waited and waited and then he could only find a red shirt with no pressure on him at all. Poor.

Diego Costa has barely had a touch, will Ben Gibson allow him to come out of his pocket this afternoon?

Anyway, the Boro skipper has already made seven clearances in the match.

Hearty applause from the home fans as Gaston Ramirez dives in to concede a throw-in deep in the opposition half.

English football supporters love that sort of commitment.

Victor Moses, a man who has found his footballing career again under Antonio Conte, needs to do better.

The dreadlocked wing-back in picked out by Eden Hazard in the box, but screws his shot way wide from six-yards out.

It was on his weaker foot, but that is still no excuse for such a poor effort.

Eden Hazard's corner is headed away by Boro defender Ben Gibson. Well defended.

The side in red and white break forward but Gaston Ramirez's control is woeful, absolutely horrendous, kicking the ball out for a goal kick from 30 yards out.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard is able to break clear for the first time on the left wing, but his ball into the box is poor, despite Diego Costa and Pedro both being available in a good position.

Costa turns away in disgust, would not want to get on the wrong side of him.
