    Leicester 0-0 Everton

This really has been impressive from young Ben Chilwell. Twice he's got the better of wing-back Seamus Coleman; first easing the Everton man out the way on the byline then denying a crossing chance with a perfectly timed tackle. Looks a real talent.

A bit of a delay as Foxes striker Islam Slimani decides he needs an extra pair of socks on. He's off the pitch now putting his boots back on again.

Very scrappy with players getting caught in possession all over the shop. Bit short on quality so far this one.

After upping their tempo, Leicester have fizzled out in the past few minutes and the pace at the King Power has slowed right down again.

    Leicester 0-0 Everton

An accomplished start from Ben Chilwell on his Premier League debut. Liverpool were interested in the the left-back in the summer and it's easy to see why. The 20-year-old has looked threatening when he's got involved in attacks and has kept Aaron Lennon quiet.

Everton's defence are on the back foot a little. Demarai Gray looks full of confidence as he bursts towards goal and lets rip from distance. His swerving long-range effort flashes past the post.

  11. CLOSE!published at 8 min

    Leicester 0-0 Everton

Leicester finally shrug off their sluggish start and create the game's first real chance of note. A header from Ashley Williams drops to Daniel Amartey, who plays a neat one-two with Shinji Okazaki before he strikes a low shot from just outside the box. Joel Robles anticipates it, though, and is down to gather well.

A low-key start thus far. The Leicester fans seem pretty flat. Too much Christmas pudding all round?

Without Romelu Lukaku, Everton would be struggling for goals and it doesn't surprise me that Ronald Koeman is trying to tie him down on a new contract.

He's a lot bigger than me but when I played with him I found myself screaming at him a few times to run a bit harder.

You look at him in the second half during the recent win over Arsenal...he puts a shift in. But you wonder why he wasn't doing that before.

As a team-mate, you are always wanting him to do more. Playing alongside him, you sometimes want him to use that physicality a bit more.

    Match of the Day commentator

There's too much quality and character in Claudio Ranieri's side for Leicester to go down. Strong at home, I certainly expect them to get the better of an Everton side who have lost their last four away games and will be glad to see the back of 2016.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman also makes four changes from the side which lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and midfielder James McCarthy both miss out through injury and are replaced by Joel Robles and Gareth Barry. Ross Barkley and Enner Valencia drop to the bench with Mason Holgate and Kevin Mirallas preferred by Koeman, who looks like he will play three at the back.

Everton XI: Robles, Baines, Funes Mori, Williams, Holgate, Coleman, Barry, Gueye, Mirallas, Lennon, Lukaku
