Brighton's goalscorer Glenn Murray told Sky Sports: "They are a quality side. They put us under pressure in the second half and we are happy to come out with a point. We had to work hard."

The chances keep coming for Aston Villa, this time Jonathan Kodjia is denied by David Stockdale. The striker did not get a clean contact with his close-range header and his effort is tipped over.

Anthony Knockaert has lasted 80 mins but is replaced by Oliver Norwood.

The corners are totting up for Aston Villa now. Into double figures and each one is looking threatening. Brighton just cannot relieve the pressure.

And again Jack Grealish almost puts Aston Villa ahead.

This time he shows some nifty skills before another curling strike is deflected wide. It really is all Villa now.
