    Anyway, Brighton boss Chris Hughton and Aston Villa's Steve Bruce can both sleep soundly (see 2156). Their teams drew 1-1 at the Amex tonight and both of them are safe in their jobs.

    Football is full of surprises but if one of them gets their marching orders then we have gone way beyond surprise.

    Brighton's goalscorer Glenn Murray told Sky Sports: "They are a quality side. They put us under pressure in the second half and we are happy to come out with a point. We had to work hard."

    It was hardly a classic but the second half provided a more than decent match.

    Aston Villa's Albert Adomah told Sky Sports: "I feel we deserved a draw. The new gaffer has come in and everything has changed. We are buzzing. It was a shame we couldn’t get the winning goal."
