    The excitement here as the game came to a climax was incredible. It was a pure, furious cup clash. 

    But overall the defences were in control, and though there was a lot of effort, drive and determination this was a tough if enjoyable stalemate.

    Not the start to the new year that Eddie Howe would have wanted as his side suffer an embarrassing loss in the FA Cup.

    A massive disappointment for Everton, but all credit to Leicester who were fantastic. The Foxes had a gameplan and an effective system, and really frustrated the Toffees. 

    Playing on the counter-attack Leicester's midfield did an excellent job and, when it was important, they were clinical.
