Dimitri Payet has been tapped up by another club otherwise this doesn't happened.

He has gone the wrong way about it - you can't down tools and say I'm not going to play.

He should've just kept his head down and play and then maybe work out a move but Slaven Bilic is right to out him and expose him.

    Payet is a disgrace.

If you have a player like that in the dressing room, you just don’t want to know him. The club have to win, otherwise, what’s the point?

After three losses in a row without scoring, the last thing Slaven Bilic needed was Dimitri Payet's refusal to play for West Ham.

A run of 10 points from four games prior to the current losing streak had demonstrated signs of improvement. Bilic will now be attempting to convince his squad that they can again recapture that form despite this latest disruption.

Bilic's predecessor, Sam Allardyce, brings his Crystal Palace side to the London Stadium for a match with genuine significance.

A home win would put nine points between the two teams; a defeat would see Big Sam's Palace move just three points behind. It could be quite an afternoon!

  11. Payet not for sale - Sullivanpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

West Ham v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has this to say on Payet in his programme notes:

"The board's position is that we do not want to sell Dimitri, we do not need to sell Dimitri for financial or any other reasons, and we will NOT sell Dimitri in the January transfer window.

"All we ask now is that he shows the same level of commitment to West Ham United as the club and the fans have shown to him by honouring his contract."

  12. 'Benteke is going nowhere'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

West Ham v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

Eagles striker Christian Benteke is "not for sale", and has "a major part to play" at Palace, according to boss Sam Allardyce, following speculation that the Belgium international may leave Selhurst Park this month.

But the 26-year-old starts today and how Palace could do with him adding to his eight goals so far this term.

  13. Payet opts outpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

West Ham v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

Dimitri Payet has refused to play for West Ham, according to manager Slaven Bilic, with the club said to have turned down a bid of £19.1m from his former club Marseilles.

"We have said we don't want to sell our best players but Payet does not want to play for us," Bilic said. "We are not going to sell him."

It's not what Bilic or West Ham fans would have wanted at this time of the year, but it certainly adds to the interest around this fixture.
