Inches away from a second.

Again, Kevin Trapp was not getting to it.

Over in Germany, Benfica goalkeeper Ederson sprints off his line to head away a through ball and it bounces to Julian Weigl around 40-45 yards out, but the Dortmund man's shot is wild and into the stand.

A puff of the cheeks from the PSG players, that was mightily close.

Lionel Messi steps up to take the free-kick, curls it over the wall with zip, but it has too much on it and drifts agonisingly wide of the angle of crossbar and post.

Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp was beaten.

Barcelona look like they may have got away with one here.

The PSG players are surrounding the referee Deniz Aytekin screaming for a penalty after Julian Draxler's low cross comes off the arm of the sliding Javier Mascherano.

Barcelona very much on the front foot in the opening stage.

I said it would be game on if they got a goal in the opening 10 minutes, but if they manage TWO...?

There would be pandemonium.

Goal line technology confirmed the goal as a PSG defender cleared the ball, but it was miles over.

A nightmare start for Benfica, as Pierre Emerick-Aubmenyang heads in at the far post.

A goal in the first 10 minutes for Barcelona will get PSG feeling twitchy.

A goal for PSG and it is goodnight.
