Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal told Sky Sports: "During the week before the game, we're Sheff Wed, We have principles, we're not an easy team to break down.

"We can draw, lose or win but we will fight, we prepared well, we knew exactly what we must do.

"This is a sign we create clear chances to score, for my players it was fantastic in the plan we created. they deserved the three points and our fans were fantastic."

Well, Newcastle are back at home on Friday, 30 December to Nottingham Forest... plenty of spice about that one after the previous meeting.
