Cameroon's Adolphe Teikeu almost recreates Newcastle defender Ciaran Clark's own goal against QPR by inadvertently heading Christian Atsu's whipped effort towards goal.

The ball, however, arrives straight into the arms of Fabrice Ondoa - it was a different outcome for Magpies keeper Karl Darlow.

So, so, so close.

Christian Atsu feeds a lovely weighted ball into the area for new signing Jordan Ayew to run on to - his angled shot creeps past Fabrice Ondoa's far post.

Apparently, there's a pay dispute between the Cameroon team and their football association... now where have I heard that before?

Coach Hugo Broos (we've exhausted the high-end sartorial jokes haven't we?) has dismissed claims the dispute could derail their bid for African Nations Cup glory. 

"I don't think we are asking for the world, but what they give us now is not good, really," Broos said.

"We've trained every day. I read in the papers that the players didn't train, but I had given them a free day so it's not because they're not happy with the money. And even though we're not happy, we still have good performances on the field."

Ghana have tried to release Newcastle's Christian Atsu and West Ham's Andre Ayew down the right at any given chance - Cameroon have kept them in check though.

There were reports knocking about about the demise of the former Chelsea coach Avram Grant - communications director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sani Dara had to deny that he had kicked the bucket.

Grant is currently located on the Ghana bench and looks animated.
