Jamie Vardy is judged by putting the ball in the back of the net and the stats speak for themselves.

    His confidence is really struggling.

But I think the pattern of the team and the whole structure has changed. Mainly because the loss of Kante and then also Mahrez, who has not downed tools but has not really been involved.

Huth and Morgan in defence have not been the same as last year and Schmeichel has been injured. It has all contributed to Leicester's performance this year.

I don't think it is a situation where the manager has lost the players. Clearly there needs to be an upturn in fortunes, but I think many people would say that Leicester City were bound to have a season where they weren't going to do as well. But I think it's a shock that things aren't going the way they would like them to go.

Swansea's recent revival might not have happened if three of the key protagonists had been allowed to leave in January.

Luckily Swans chairman Huw Jenkins says he resisted all interest.

"I can confirm there was big interest in Gylfi Sigurdsson, Fernando Llorente and Federico Fernandez," reveals Jenkins in his programme notes.

"Substantial offers were turned down during the window for all three of them because we felt they were vital to our cause."

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois: "Burnley away, with their home record they are a really difficult side to play away.

"The pitch was not good, there was snow, it was cold and not an ideal situation but we started very well. We scored and I think we conceded a free-kick where you could see the quality of Brady.

"After the goal we couldn't find our game from the first 20 minutes. We slipped out of our game and found it hard to create chances. In the end we can be happy with the point.

Asked if he could have saved Burnley's equaliser, the Belgian said: "I got a little finger on it but it was not enough. You could try to anticipate and then might save it but they could go in your side.

"In the second half they defended very well and we were maybe sloppy but in the situation, a point is not bad."

Demarai Gray can take the pressure off Vardy, he will run in behind. Vardy might feel the pressure on him to score goals.

The fact they are very similar might help Vardy.

You can't sack Claudio Ranieri, it's as simple as that. When you break down Leicester City as a team, this is what they are. I don't think anyone predicted them to finish in the top four this season. It was a one-off last season. The majority of players in their ranks are suited to a team that would be fighting at the bottom of the table.

Leicester are probably everybody's favourite second team. Last season's story gave people hope in a league where the big clubs dominate.

There are so many people who would like it to turn out with a positive outcome. Leicester need to get back to their identity.

If you ask people what Leicester City are they will say they are a very good team who work hard and out-work people. Even that has been questioned of them this season.

There was always going to be a drop in terms of Leicester's league position but it is remarkable how far they have dropped off and that they are in a relegation battle.

Mahrez has been a shadow of the player last season and Vardy has just five goals this season.

Only goal difference separates Swansea and Leicester in the Premier League table – but the two teams enter today’s vital relegation battle in vastly contrasting form.

Winless in the Premier League 2017 and without a goal in their previous five league outings, Leicester seem to be in freefall.

Swansea, meanwhile, have won three of their five league games since head coach Paul Clement’s appointment on 2 January, lifting them off the foot of the table and out of the bottom three to earn the former Derby boss the manager of the month award.

However, Clement may be wary of the notion that this accolade is meant to carry something of a curse – with managers often losing their next game after receiving the award.

What strikes me when I see interviews by some of the Leicester players is they almost look as though they don't know what is happening to them.

They have a big game against Swansea who have had an upturn in fortunes since Paul Clement has gone there. It's a big game but there are no relegation issues settled today.

What a turn around in form for Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

Last season Vardy scored 24 goals, but has just five so far this campaign, while Mahrez scored 17 goals and made 10 assists, compared to three goals and three assists this year.

In fact, by this stage last season the pair had contributed towards (goals and assists) 44 goals but have managed just 14 this time around.

"I have spoken with Riyad (Mahrez) and I have spoken with Jamie (Vardy) and we know (what they need to do)," Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri said this week.

"They link together well. If you see how many goals they scored and how many passes they made last season - but this time no.

"I say to Riyad, 'come back to last season, come back'. He is trying and he is positive and I am very happy when he is positive."

Burnley defender Michael Keane talking to Sky Sports: "Chelsea came out of the blocks strong and caught us cold in the first five minutes. But we have confidence and didn't let it affect us.

"We never give in - the manager instills it in us - and it showed today. We defended really well as a team and kept our shape.

"They are not top of the league for no reason, and have some excellent players, so we were always going to come under pressure.

"We dug in well and although there was some last ditch defending, I thought we were reasonably comfortable. We deserved the point."
