So Barcelona regain second place, and are now just two points behind Real Madrid - who must visit third-placed Sevilla tomorrow. Las Palmas' players might have just about got home by then. Safe journey, chaps.

Just to bring you up to date with all things La Liga, there was one early game today: Leganes drew 0-0 with Athletic Bilbao.

Mind you, Luis Suarez doesn't look thrilled to be pressed into service for a TV interview either, and he's just scored two goals. I don't speak Spanish, so I'm relying on the chap who is translating the interview live, but there appears to be a question about Lionel Messi's contract stand-off thrown in towards the end. 

"Lionel Messi knows what he wants and the club know what they want," Suarez responds. Adeptly handled, sir.

Las Palmas midfielder Roque Mesa has gamely put himself forward for an on-pitch post-match television interview. He really doesn't look as if he wants to be there, but he gives Barcelona due credit, and acknowledges that he and his team-mates gave them too much space.

That was just about as straightforward an afternoon as Luis Enrique could have hoped for. He took a risk with his selection - no Iniesta, no Neymar, no Pique - and it paid off. Barcelona, for now, move up to second.

One minute to add on. The referee, very sensibly, elects not to add time on for all the substitutions. There really is no need.

The visitors will, I'm sure, be glad to get home. They have finally won their first corner. Nothing comes of it.

Free-kick for Las Palmas, out wide on the right. Tana swings it over, but Paco Alcacer is back defending to head away. It's not been Las Palmas' day, and the long journey home, the very long journey home, is not going to be a happy one. Stock up on chocolate at the airport, I say. Although I don't think footballers are allowed chocolate, are they? That's why I could never have been a pro. Well, that and a lack of ability.

Chance here for Alcacer to get his first Barcelona league goal, as Las Palmas make an absolute pig's ear of playing out from the back. He steers wide, though, as Javi Varas comes out to meet him. Looks as if Aythami just gave Alcacer a shove there, but Barcelona don't need penalties now. Save them for another day.

Blimey. A chance for Las Palmas. What chances they've had have tended to come as a result of Barcelona over-playing out from the back. The home side give away possession on halfway, Aythami is involved in that, and the ball is played through to Kevin-Prince Boateng. The shot is team, though, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen falls on it.

An early run for Paco Alcacer, as Las Palmas' vulnerability to Barcelona's pace on the counter-attack is exposed for about the 10,000th time in this second half. The striker isn't quite up to full speed to take advantage of the through ball played towards him, though, and Mauricio Lemos darts across to make the challenge.

Final Barcelona change. Sergio Busquets gets a loud ovation as he departs, and Jeremy Mathieu appears for the first time since he was sent off against Manchester City in the Champions League in October.

Meanwhile Nabil El Zhar - who, to be honest, I'd forgotten was on the pitch - comes off for Las Palmas, to be replaced by Marko Livaja, who scored twice in their midweek Copa del Rey win at Atletico Madrid.

Now Lionel Messi tries to score direct from a corner - and almost succeeds. His kick is swerving inside the near post when Javi Varas scrambles across to beat the ball away.

Another Barcelona change. No hat-trick for Luis Suarez today, as he's coming off. Paco Alcacer, who hasn't scored a La Liga goal in yonks, gets a chance now. And to be honest, if he's going to do it, he won't have many better opportunities than today. Las Palmas look spent.

It's a question now of how many Barcelona want to score. Do they go full throttle, or do they ease up to conserve energy for Thursday's Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad? Well, Jordi Alba plays an exquisite one-two with Lionel Messi - the first-time return pass is lofted perfectly back to the defender - and volleys over from 12 yards. No easing off just yet.

Luis Suarez probably should have had another one there, heading over at the far post amid yet more defensive disarray. A change for Barcelona; Andre Gomes comes off, and Ivan Rakitic - out of favour of late - appears in the league for the first time since 3 December.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you a contender for the weekend's silliest booking. Helder Lopes attacks down the left for Las Palmas, and works himself a little space to cross towards Kevin-Prince Boateng. The striker cannot quite reach it with head or foot and so, I suspect out of frustration, punches the ball towards goal with his hand. Yellow card, and he's suspended for Las Palmas' next game. His manager quietly fumes.
