  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Swansea City 1-1 Burnley

Two quick-fire free-kicks for Swansea but Burnley, who have all their players back, halt any further controversy from this ridiculous opening 45 minutes.

Paul Robinson palms Gylfi Sigurdsson's free-kick away for a corner but referee Anthony Taylor blows for half-time. Boos ring around the stadium.

The rain is falling quite heavy now at the Liberty. A metaphor for Swansea's fortunes in this half?

Fernando Llorente might not think so. He nods the ball onto the crossbar and the hosts are almost in front once more.

  3. Swansea City 1-1 Burnleypublished at 38 mins

    What a chance!

Jack Cork, who has had two spells on loan with Burnley during his time with Chelsea, lays a neat ball to Gylfi Sigurdsson and the Swansea man unleashes a fierce shot from just outside the box that sails inches from the post.

To give the hosts credit, they have not backed down since conceding.

Appeals from Swansea City fans for a penalty of their own and, would you believe it, this one involves Sam Vokes accused of handling again. Only this time it's in his own box.

Those appeals are waved away, however.

How has this match gone on just half an hour? I feel like I've been watching this for about a month with everything that's happened..

There is steam coming out of Paul Clement's ears after that penalty decision.

And quite rightly, too - Sam Vokes' arm was the only one outstretched in the Swansea penalty area, and the Burnley striker did not even appeal.

Football's governing bodies continue to debate whether video technology should be used to help referees. That decision from Anthony Taylor is a convincing argument to introduce those changes.

Well that will surely be a talking point this evening.

In the build up to the penalty being awarded, Burnley won a corner and Sam Vokes rushed into the box, presumably trying to head the ball, but his outstretched arm seems to make contact with the ball and the referee eventually points to the spot.

Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson looks mighty annoyed and who could blame him?

  7. Swansea City 1-1 Burnleypublished at 21 mins

Andre Gray sends his penalty straight down the middle and Burnley are on level terms. What a crazy opening 20 minutes!

However, replays seem to show Burnley forward Sam Vokes handled the ball and not a Swansea player.

    Well well well.

Confusion at the Liberty Stadium. Referee Anthony Taylor has seen a handball in the box and Burnley win a penalty!

What a few minutes for Swansea. After Alfie Mawson hit the bar and post, they have the lead after a good old-fashioned centre-forward's goal.

Leroy Fer deserves credit for an excellent, whipped cross - right on to the head of Fernando Llorente, who emphatically planted his header into the bottom corner.

It's telling that the goal came down Swansea's right wing - Burnley left-back Stephen Ward looks nervous against Luciano Narsingh's pace and he was booked after just nine minutes for a shove on the Dutchman. He's on thin ice now.

  11. Swansea City 1-0 Burnleypublished at 12 mins

What a lovely goal that is.

You have to say Swansea City deserve it. Mere minutes after Alfie Mawson hit the woodwork twice in quick succession, Leroy Fer curls in a lovely ball to the onrushing Fernando Llorente who heads home from close range.

That's his tenth goal of the season. How important will that be come the end of the season?

    So so close

Swansea's Alfie Mawson hits the bar with a header from the free-kick and then the ball works its way into the box and Mawson unleashes a close-range shot that cannons off Paul Robinson's right-hand post.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 8 mins.

    Swansea City 0-0 Burnley

Stephen Ward brings down Luciano Narsingh midway through the Burnley half and Swansea are awarded a free-kick.

  15. Swansea City 0-0 Burnleypublished at 6 mins

A relatively tame start in a chilly Swansea this afternoon.

Veteran Burnley keeper Paul Robinson, making his third appearance of the season, has been untested despite Swansea dominating possession. An early Swans corner was well defended by the visitors.

    All square so far.

Clearly Swansea City think assistant manager (and, judging from this picture, Mr Suave) Claude Makelele is worth keeping around.

They are planning to open negotiations with the former Chelsea midfielder and France international over a new deal at the Liberty Stadium, as his current deal expires at the end of the season.
